United Airlines has confirmed that the two planes made contact on the tarmac, resulting in an over two-hour delay for both flights.

Passenger Randi Muck, who was onboard the Boeing 737-900 headed to Ohio, described feeling a sudden impact that seemed like the aircraft had run over something heavy. She mentioned that it was particularly noticeable to those seated at the back of the plane, where a woman alerted fellow passengers about a piece of the plane falling off. The situation prompted the woman to repeatedly notify flight attendants until the plane was inspected.

Following the incident, both planes returned to the gate and passengers were deplaned without any reported injuries. United Airlines swiftly arranged for replacement aircraft to transport the passengers to their respective destinations. Flight 544 later landed at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, almost three hours behind schedule, while flight 2451 touched down at Orlando International Airport just over two hours later than planned.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred involving United Airlines. In September, two United planes collided on the tarmac at San Francisco International Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The department clarified that the collision took place in an area where air traffic controllers do not communicate with flights, ensuring that no injuries resulted, and alternate aircraft were provided for the passengers.
