Damson Idris’s Nephew Identified Among the Victims of Train Knifeman

British actor Damson Idris’s 17-year-old nephew has been identified as one of the victims of a recent stabbing incident on a train in England. The tragic event took place on Saturday, Nov. 1, when Anthony Williams allegedly attacked multiple passengers with a knife. Isaiah Ishmael Idris, the teenage nephew of Damson Idris, was among at least 11 individuals wounded during the stabbing spree.

The British Transport Police (BTP) confirmed the news in a press release on Tuesday, Nov. 4, stating that the 17-year-old boy suffered facial injuries in an attack on London’s Docklands Light Railway. The incident occurred before reports came in of multiple stabbings on an LNER train service travelling from Doncaster to London King’s Cross. Isaiah is believed to be one of the youngest victims of the knifeman responsible for the disturbing attack.

Following the attack, Isaiah reportedly managed to leave the train at Pontoon Dock station around 00:46 a.m. local time on Nov. 1. He then called emergency services by dialing 999. The suspect, Anthony Williams, fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive but was apprehended later that same day. Damson Idris has not publicly addressed his nephew’s injuries, but Isaiah’s uncle, Habeeb Idris, confirmed the incident and shared that the family was dealing with the situation privately.

The stabbing incidents prompted a swift response from the British Transport Police, who were alerted to multiple stabbings on another train at 7:42 p.m. local time on the same day. At least 10 individuals were found wounded and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Williams appeared in Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Monday, Nov. 3, facing charges of attempted murder.

As of Tuesday, seven of the victims involved in the stabbings had been discharged from the hospital. However, one train staff member remains in stable but critical condition, and three other patients are still receiving treatment in the hospital. Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy emphasized the priority of the criminal investigation, working in collaboration with Cambridgeshire Constabulary and the Crown Prosecution Service to ensure justice is served.

The BTP is taking additional measures to enhance the visibility of police officers across the railway network to reassure both rail staff and the travelling public in the wake of the violent attacks.
