Miss Mexico 2025, Fátima Bosch, is making headlines after a tense interaction with a Miss Universe pageant executive resulted in a walkout by fellow contestants. The incident unfolded during a pre-pageant event in Thailand, leading up to the Miss Universe competition scheduled for November 21.
In a livestream captured moment, pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil confronted Miss Mexico, accusing her of not participating in a promotional photoshoot aimed at highlighting the host country. Itsaragrisil emphasised the importance of promoting Thailand to all contestants and singled out Bosch for allegedly defying directives from Mexico’s pageant director.

During the heated exchange, Bosch vehemently denied the claims made against her by Itsaragrisil. Despite her protestations, Itsaragrisil continued to insist that she was acting under orders from her national director and went as far as to derogatorily label her a “dummy.”

In response to the confrontation, Miss Universe contestants rallied behind Miss Mexico, with many choosing to walk out in solidarity with her. The incident highlighted tensions brewing within the pageant community and raised questions about the treatment of contestants by pageant officials.
Following the incident, both Itsaragrisil and Bosch have offered statements. Itsaragrisil issued an apology for any discomfort caused, stating that he had since spoken with the contestants present during the altercation. Meanwhile, Bosch took to the media to address the disrespect she felt, emphasising the need for women to be treated with dignity and respect.
Raul Rocha Cantu, President of Miss Universe, also weighed in on the controversy, expressing his support for all competing women and condemning any actions that undermine the integrity of the pageant. He criticised Itsaragrisil for his behaviour towards Bosch, describing it as humiliating and disrespectful.
In an interview captured in Spanish and shared on social media, Bosch reaffirmed her commitment to using her platform to advocate for women’s voices and causes. She expressed her determination to stand firm in the face of adversity and deliver her message of empowerment to a global audience.
The backlash from the incident has sparked a conversation about the treatment of contestants in the pageant world and the need for greater respect and equality within the industry. As Miss Mexico continues her journey in the Miss Universe competition, all eyes are on how she will navigate the aftermath of this public showdown.
In the ever-evolving landscape of beauty pageants, incidents like these shed light on the challenges faced by contestants and the importance of upholding values of respect and inclusivity. Miss Mexico’s courageous stance serves as a testament to the strength and resilience of women in the face of adversity, inspiring others to speak out and demand better treatment for all.
