Through this partnership, Prime members in approximately 10,000 locations will have access to a vast selection of restaurants, all powered by Uber Eats. The initiative is designed to streamline the ordering process, enabling users to benefit from zero delivery fees on orders over £25. The announcement was made in a press release dated November 5.

Customers no longer need to worry about downloading separate applications or juggling multiple account credentials. The new service can be accessed by simply logging into a dedicated Uber Eats webpage on Amazon or by using the Amazon shopping app with existing Prime login details. Payment can be made using the usual Amazon payment methods, offering a seamless experience for users.

Andrew Macdonald, the president of Uber, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating that the goal was to create an intuitive and cost-effective food delivery option for Prime members. “We built an experience for Prime members designed to make restaurant delivery feel as natural, convenient, and affordable as ordering anything else on Uber Eats,” he noted in the release.
The new service encompasses hundreds of thousands of restaurants, ranging from well-known chains such as Chipotle to popular local establishments. Locations served by the partnership vary widely, from large urban centres like Los Angeles to smaller communities, exemplified by rural spots such as Berkeley Springs in West Virginia.
Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Amazon Prime worldwide, highlighted the convenience brought to various occasions. “Whether it’s game night, family night, or date night, Prime’s new Uber Eats membership benefit makes getting dinner delivered even easier. This is what Prime is all about: unlimited free, fast delivery on a wide selection of products,” he remarked.
Furthermore, the partnership comes with additional savings for Amazon Prime members. An introductory offer allows users to receive £20 off their first two Uber Eats orders of £25 or more within the first two weeks of the service launch. Additionally, holders of the Prime Visa card will earn 5% back on all Uber Eats orders until December 5, opening up the potential for significant annual savings.
This move to offer convenient food deliveries aligns with Amazon’s broader strategy to enhance its service offerings and maintain competitiveness in the fast-evolving market. Recently, Uber Eats expanded its operations through an alliance with Costco, allowing Costco members in 47 states to order products from the retailer through the food delivery platform. This expansion further underscores Uber Eats’ ambition to broaden its network and increase convenience for consumers.
In summary, Amazon’s new integration with Uber Eats offers enhanced convenience and savings for Prime members, making food delivery a potentially seamless part of their shopping experience. With this innovative service now available, customers can quickly satisfy their culinary cravings, whether they are at home or on the go.
