In her post, Henry described the creation of the book cover as “a labour of love,” expressing hope that her readers would find it as enchanting as she does. The author shared a video of herself unveiling the striking cover poster, showcasing it in a beautifully framed display at the Arlington Theatre in San Diego.
*Modern Classic* follows the story of protagonist Beckett Heyburn, portrayed as a “moderately successful” screenwriter who has a deep affection for classic romance films. The narrative is set into motion following the sudden passing of Beckett’s mentor, prompting her to escape to Santa Barbara for solace. There, she discovers temporary refuge in a stunning coastal home. However, her peace is interrupted by a rescue dog that frequently wanders into her yard, owned by a dashing neighbour who may just hold the key to Beckett’s much-needed happy ending.
Earlier in October, Henry had hinted at the new book’s title and release date by sharing an image of herself at the Esquire Theatre in Cincinnati, her hometown. The theatre’s marquee teased both the title and publication timeline, while similar promotions also took place in other UK cinemas to engage her British readership.
The celebration for *Modern Classic* continued at the Arlington Theatre, where a fan activation event was organised on the same day that the book cover was revealed. This event was in collaboration with local businesses, including the mobile bookstore All Booked Up and the scooter rental shop Ooty’s Scooters, fostering a sense of community and excitement surrounding the upcoming release.
Henry expressed gratitude to the attendees of the event, sharing her appreciation for the readers—along with their pets and children—who showed up to celebrate the occasion. Her heartfelt message conveyed just how special these moments are to her as an author, reflecting her strong connection with her fans.
This latest release will be Henry’s seventh adult romance novel and follows her previous work, *Great Big Beautiful Life*, released in 2025. The author is well-known for her bestsellers such as *Beach Read*, *Book Lovers*, and *People We Meet on Vacation*, the latter of which was adapted into a Netflix film earlier this year. The continued success of her novels demonstrates her ability to resonate with readers seeking heartfelt and engaging stories.
Those interested in securing a copy of *Modern Classic* can now preorder it from various booksellers, ensuring they won’t miss out on Henry’s latest literary offering. With her track record of capturing the essence of romance and the emotional intricacies of her characters, *Modern Classic* promises to be another captivating addition to her expanding bibliography. The anticipation surrounding the book is palpable, as fans eagerly mark their calendars for its arrival in 2027.
