Teddi Mellencamp, a former star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”, has taken to social media to share her ongoing battle with cancer and the significant changes it has brought to her life. Mellencamp revealed that her health goals have significantly shifted since being diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022, the most serious type of skin cancer. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when the cancer metastasised to her brain and lungs in April 2025, leading to surgery to remove four tumours. Since then, she has been undergoing regular immunotherapy treatments.

In her emotional updates, Mellencamp opened up about how the side effects of her treatments have complicated her ability to maintain a normal fitness routine. She candidly described moments of frustration, such as struggling to remember her treadmill password, leading to her first jog in over two years—an achievement she described as a significant milestone in her recovery journey.
Accompanying her candid updates, Mellencamp shared a video showcasing her hand tremors, a symptom resulting from her surgeries. “This is how I wake up every morning. That’s my hand shaking,” she stated, while exhibiting her pill organiser. Despite these difficulties, Mellencamp declared that she is determined not to wallow in self-pity. “I’m not gonna try to be the old Teddi, but I’m gonna try to be the new and improved Teddi,” she affirmed, signifying her resolve to adapt rather than revert to her pre-cancer self.
Mellencamp has taken a positive approach towards her healing, stating that moving her body is essential for both her physical and mental recovery. She admitted that her fitness journey is no longer about the numbers on the scale, as she currently weighs 38 pounds more than she did before her diagnosis. Instead, her focus has shifted to her overall health and wellbeing, emphasizing the importance of self-care while navigating the challenges of recovery.
Despite her struggles, Mellencamp expressed gratitude for the support from her followers and clients. She noted how messages of encouragement have motivated her to push through the tough days. “Let’s go,” she recalled being told by her clients, highlighting the sense of community that surrounds her as she embarks on this new chapter of her life.
Mellencamp’s willingness to share her journey, even through tears, is indicative of her authenticity and vulnerability. “I cringe when I see people holding their cameras while they’re crying,” she confessed, yet she chose to document her experience to inspire others. She acknowledged that the journey may take time and that progress looks different for everyone, which she finds to be incredibly significant.
Recently, she shared an update celebrating her accomplishments, revealing that her All In coaching team helped her recover her treadmill login, allowing her to complete her first jog in two years. “I don’t care if I only make it 10 minutes,” she wrote, affirming her commitment to “progress over perfection.” She also shared a side-by-side comparison of herself in workout attire, highlighting the differences in her appearance post-treatment, and reiterated her belief that she is excited to discover what lies ahead in her new journey.
In a poignant conclusion to her recent updates, Mellencamp stated, “I don’t care about becoming the old me again because she wasn’t happy. But I am excited to see where my new journey will take me.” This statement reflects an empowering resolve to embrace change and face her future with optimism, inviting her followers to join her on this transformative path toward healing and self-discovery.
