In a recent exclusive clip from the reality series *The Kardashians*, Kourtney Kardashian opens up about a challenging period she experienced with her sister, Kim Kardashian, during their younger years. The clip, which airs on Thursday, 22nd October, reveals Kourtney’s reflection on her strained relationship with Kim after the latter’s surprise elopement when she was just 19 years old.
The episode shows Kourtney spending time with her stepdaughter, Alabama Barker, who confided about an ongoing disagreement with her brother, Landon. Alabama, aged 20, explained to Kourtney that she had not spoken to Landon, 23, for almost four weeks following a familial fallout. “We just had a disagreement and I found something out, and I told my father, and he didn’t like that,” Alabama said, noting that her intentions were in her brother’s best interest.

Kourtney, now 47, empathised with Alabama’s plight and recounted her own similar experience with Kim during her college years. “Four weeks? I didn’t talk to Kim once for four weeks,” Kourtney recalled, prompting a reminiscence of a time when their relationship was strained due to Kim’s decision to elope.
In a confessional segment, Kourtney disclosed that she had learned about Kim’s marriage to music producer Damon Thomas through friends rather than from Kim herself. “I told my mum because she kept saying, ‘It’s so funny, the nail girl was saying, “Congratulations, your daughter got married,”’” Kourtney explained, adding that this news led to tension between her and her sister, with Kim later reacting by accusing Kourtney of “ruining her life.”

Kim’s first marriage took place in 2000 when she was only 19, while Thomas was 29. The couple eloped in Las Vegas but later divorced in 2004 after three years together. Even though Kim usually keeps details of that chapter of her life private, she has occasionally reflected on it during the series. In a previous episode, she described her unique wedding attire, wearing leather capris and a halter top paired with prominent Prada wedges.
In sharing her experience, Kim also recounted how her sister Khloé supported her during her divorce from Thomas. She recalled a cherished childhood memory involving a piggy bank that Khloé had. When Kim was in need following her separation, Khloé offered her the contents of the piggy bank, which amounted to $6,000—enough for Kim to secure her first apartment.
Since her divorce from Thomas, Kim’s romantic life has been quite eventful. She famously married basketball player Kris Humphries in 2011; however, that union lasted only 72 days. Later, she became engaged to rapper Kanye West, marrying him in 2014 before filing for divorce in 2021. Currently, Kim is reportedly dating Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, a relationship that began earlier this year.
The sibling struggles, alongside reflections on their family dynamics, demonstrate the complexities that the Kardashian sisters navigate in their personal lives. Kourtney’s ability to relate her experiences to her stepdaughter underscores the ever-evolving nature of family relationships, particularly in the face of disagreements.
As the episode airs, viewers can expect to delve deeper into the Kardashian family’s intricate history, showcasing the balance of their successes and personal challenges. The new series of *The Kardashians* streams weekly on Hulu, offering fans a closer look into the lives of one of reality television’s most famous families.
