In an emotional post, Matthew described his mother as “everything to me,” reflecting on her profound role in his upbringing. He reminisced about their time together, noting how she taught him not just academics but also vital values such as empathy. “She always had the biggest smile and she gave the best hugs,” he shared, characterising her as the most selfless person he knew.
Matthew also conveyed the surreal nature of her passing, stating, “It still doesn’t feel real” and expressing uncertainty about when or if he would fully come to terms with the loss. He pointed out that Meredith had a tremendous capacity for love, supporting everyone around her authentically and unconditionally.

The impact of Meredith’s life extended far beyond her family. She was an active member of the Broadway Artists Alliance (BAA), where her contributions as a parent liaison significantly shaped the organisation. The BAA released a heartfelt statement, acknowledging her as the glue that held their community together, stating that, “no matter how long you had known Meredith — years, hours, or mere minutes — she took the time to listen, encourage, and lift you up.”
Further expressing their fond memories, the BAA remarked on Meredith’s ability to make everyone feel special and valued. They fondly remembered her as a relentless advocate for students, parents, and staff, always cheering them on and providing a trusted source of support.
Reflecting on the void left by his mother, Matthew noted that he would miss their conversations about his day and their shared TV rituals. He pointed out the milestones and moments she would now miss in his life, yet recognised the significance of the experiences they had shared while she was alive. “I love you, Mama,” he concluded his tribute, signifying the deep love and bond they shared.
In this challenging time, Matthew expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support from friends, colleagues, and the broader community. He acknowledged their kindness and reassured them that their messages were deeply appreciated, even if he was unable to respond to each one personally.
Meredith Lamb’s legacy will be honoured by the BAA, which is committed to establishing scholarships in her name to support aspiring young artists pursuing their dreams. Through this initiative, her influence will continue to inspire and uplift others, much like she did during her lifetime.
As Matthew navigates this profound loss, his tribute serves as a testament to Meredith’s enduring impact on him and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
