In a heartfelt reflection on her time in the fashion industry, Australian model Miranda Kerr recently shared her reasons for declining an invitation to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in 2026, two decades after her debut on the iconic runway. Having first graced the catwalk in 2006, Kerr looked back fondly on her experiences with the brand, highlighting the lasting friendships and cherished memories she has gathered over the years.

Kerr, now 43, took to Instagram on 18 October to commemorate her milestone, saying, “20 years since my first @victoriassecret show 🪽.” She accompanied her post with a series of photos and videos that showcased her evolution as a model. In her message, she expressed gratitude for the people who contributed to her journey as well as the significant moments that marked her involvement with Victoria’s Secret.

Although feeling honoured to be invited back to the show for its 2026 edition, Kerr explained that she felt it was best to leave that chapter of her life untouched. She stated, “It meant so much to be invited to return this year, especially as it marks 20 years since my first show…. but I ultimately felt in my heart it was right to cherish this chapter as it was.” Kerr sent her well-wishes to the models participating in the upcoming show, exuding positivity in her message with emojis.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will move to Los Angeles in 2026, marking a significant change for the renowned event. This decision was announced on 16 July via the brand’s Instagram account, where they teased their return by stating, “The wait is over—the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back! This year, we’re taking the show on the road to the birthplace of glamour, stardom, and icons…. Los Angeles, California. It’s the City of Angels, after all.”
In the previous edition of the show, which took place in 2025, several high-profile models graced the catwalk, including Alex Consani, Paloma Elsesser, and Kylie Jenner, who stunned everyone in the extravagant $50 million Fantasy Bra. Kerr’s past experiences with the show are marked with impressive milestones, such as officially becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2007 and walking the runway in several subsequent years, including 2008, 2009, 2011, and her final appearance in 2012.
Among her memorable moments, Kerr wore the breathtaking $2.5 million “Fantasy Treasure” Bra during the 2011 show, designed by Long Island’s London Jewelers. Crafted with nearly 3,400 precious gems and featuring an eye-catching design, the piece garnered much attention. Of the bra, Kerr remarked, “It’s such a piece of artwork! It’s absolutely stunning — it kind of feels a little mermaid-like — but I can’t believe I’m wearing $2.5 million on my chest.”
Despite her choice to forgo the Victoria’s Secret runway this year, Kerr made a notable re-entry into the fashion world at Paris Fashion Week. After almost a decade away from the catwalk, she walked for Stella McCartney’s spring/summer 2027 show on 30 September, donning a striking seafoam green gown with elegant cutouts. Following the event, she expressed her joy on social media, saying, “Still smiling from this morning 🤍. Thank you @stellamccartney for such a special return to the runway.”
As Kerr continues to navigate her evolving career and personal life, her reflections serve as a reminder of the meaningful connections forged in the fast-paced world of fashion. Her decision to cherish her past while moving forward speaks to a broader sentiment among professionals who recognise the importance of their journeys. The fashion industry may shift and change, but it is the memories and experiences that often remain close to the heart.
