In a recent exclusive conversation, Dorinda Medley, the former star of the reality hit show “The Real Housewives of New York City,” opened up about her iconic residence, Blue Stone Manor, situated in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Known for its lavish gatherings featured on Bravo, Medley confirmed her eventual plans to sell the sprawling Tudor-style estate, noting she will know when the time is right.

Medley, who was attending the premiere of E!’s new series “The Golden Life” in New York City on 14th October, described her deep emotional connection to Blue Stone Manor. This connection stems not only from her personal memories but also from her family’s history with the property, as her grandfather and father were involved in its original construction. The estate, which sits on 20 acres, was a notable surprise gift from her late husband, Richard, who purchased it in 2005, just months ahead of their wedding. Together, they invested approximately £4 million in the restoration of the property, built in 1902.

Reflecting on her time at the estate, Medley remarked, “I was there with my husband. We raised children there. I had the iconic shows up there.” She mentioned that while she cherishes the memories, she is also realistic about her future there. “Do I see myself at 70 walking around 11,000 square feet? Probably not,” she stated, although she emphasised that there is currently no urgency to sell.

Fans of “The Real Housewives” may recall many memorable moments unfolded within the walls of Blue Stone Manor, as Medley regularly hosted cast gatherings that were integral to the storyline. Notably, the home was the setting for various dramatic incidents during the show’s run, including humorous disputes surrounding accommodations like the infamous “fish room.” The estate also featured prominently in the series “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip,” which showcased the home as a backdrop for celebrations among past and present Housewives.
Medley shared a surreal moment during one of these gatherings, recalling how she was struck by the blend of familiar faces and glamorous personalities in her home. “I saw Chanel Ayan in my refrigerator, and I thought, ‘This is wild,’” she said, reflecting on the unique experiences that the setting has offered. “It just felt very surreal, and I think it’s made Blue Stone Manor iconic forever.”
Recently, Medley has also put a parcel of the property up for sale. In July, it was reported that she would be selling just under 3.7 acres of land for £1.2 million. This segment of the estate, which includes a private entrance and is surrounded by protected conservation land, provides picturesque views of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York.
Explaining her rationale for the sale, Medley mentioned a recent surveying process that revealed her ownership of an unexpected 20 acres. “I thought I only owned 11 acres. It took a year and a half for the survey,” she explained. “So, at this point in my life, I don’t really need 20 acres.”
Dorinda’s latest project, “The Golden Life,” promises to reconnect viewers with some of the show’s legacy cast members as they navigate various life stages and milestones. Joined by familiar faces such as Luann De Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Sonja Morgan, Medley expressed her enthusiasm for reconnecting on-screen. “It feels fantastic to have the OG RHONY group back together,” she noted, adding that the audience will enjoy seeing them as individuals, rather than merely as New Yorkers or family members.
The highly anticipated series “The Golden Life” is set to premiere on 20th October at 10 p.m. ET on E!, and Medley is excited for fans to witness this new chapter. “We’re just so excited and appreciative,” she remarked, hinting that the dynamic among the cast remains strong and vibrant.
As Dorinda Medley contemplates the future of Blue Stone Manor, her legacy within the “Real Housewives” franchise and her heartfelt connections to the estate continue to engage fans and followers alike. The estate, filled with memories of laughter, conflict, and camaraderie, symbolizes both her past and her ongoing journey in the reality television sphere.
