Stefanie Powers, the celebrated actress and wildlife advocate, is enjoying a well-deserved spotlight as she reflects on her illustrious career spanning several decades. Best known for her iconic role as Jennifer Hart in the television series *Hart to Hart*, Powers has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and wildlife conservation.

Now at the age of 83, Powers reminisced about her early career and the pivotal moments that shaped her journey. In an interview, she highlighted her debut in television with *The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.*, a series that laid the foundation for her subsequent successes in film and theatre. “After that, I returned to making movies and occasionally took part in theatre and television miniseries whenever the opportunity arose,” she said.
One of those opportunities came in the form of a significant miniseries, which showcased her versatility as an actress. Powers recalled her involvement in *Washington: Behind Closed Doors*, an adaptation of H. R. Haldeman’s book following the Watergate scandal, expressing her excitement at working alongside a stellar cast, including Cliff Robertson.
As Powers navigated her career, another unexpected opportunity emerged while she was preparing for a Broadway production of *Cyrano de Bergerac*. She received a call from Robert Wagner, who had previously worked with her in *It Takes a Thief*, inviting her to audition for the pilot of *Hart to Hart*. Faced with two enticing prospects, Powers initially felt torn between her loyalty to her current project and the lure of this new venture.
However, she soon learned that circumstances regarding a potential writers’ or newspaper strike in New York would jeopardise her Broadway aspirations. “Traditionally, whenever there was a newspaper strike, no out-of-town shows ever made it to Broadway due to a lack of publicity,” she explained. Embracing this shift, Powers expressed her gratitude for the unforeseen turn of events that led her to *Hart to Hart*, which would go on to air for five successful seasons from 1979 to 1984.
The impact of *Hart to Hart* extended beyond its initial run, as Powers reprised her role in a series of television movies throughout the mid-1990s. This popular series not only solidified her status as a household name but also opened numerous doors for ongoing opportunities in the industry.
In addition to her thriving acting career, Powers has displayed unwavering commitment to wildlife conservation, a passion that culminated in the establishment of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation, now approaching its 45th anniversary. Reflecting on her dedication, she considers the foundation her most significant accomplishment. Recently, Powers was inducted into a prestigious list of “Agents Of Change” and honoured at the United Nations for her conservation efforts.
This month, she received further recognition from the Thalians, a charitable organisation within the entertainment industry. Powers has been named the recipient of their Ms. Wonderful award, which will be presented at a special event at the Bel Air Country Club in December 2026. In her remarks, she conveyed her appreciation for the Thalians, recalling its rich history and connection to young women entering the industry, many of whom were inspired by figures such as Debbie Reynolds and Ruta Lee.
“I have deep admiration for the Thalians, having witnessed their longstanding contribution to our industry,” Powers remarked, highlighting the importance of their work. “Being honoured by such an esteemed organisation is truly meaningful, especially in memory of those who have paved the way.”
As Powers looks back on her journey, she expresses gratitude for the experiences that have shaped her career and her commitment to wildlife conservation. With a legacy that spans both the arts and environmentalism, Stefanie Powers continues to inspire through her work and dedication to making a difference.
