In an interview with Us Weekly, Brian Austin Green has shed light on the reasons for his limited presence in the audience during his fiancée Sharna Burgess’s recent performances on “Dancing with the Stars.” The long-standing actor revealed that restrictions regarding young children attending live tapings have made it challenging for him to support Burgess in person.

Green, who is 53 years old, explained that his appearances have been notably frequent in the early weeks of the show’s current 35th season, marking Burgess’s return after a five-year hiatus. However, due to the show’s production’s increased regulations around young children, particularly their four-year-old son Zane, it has become increasingly difficult for him to attend.

“I can’t be there with Zane and the kids,” he stated. Green has three other sons from previous relationships, including one son with ex-wife Megan Fox and another with Vanessa Marcil. He elaborated on their situation, saying, “So we have found a time when it works where they can be home with someone and I can go. I’m always there, whether I’m sitting in the audience or I’m sitting at home watching. I’m always rooting for Sharna.”

Despite these challenges, Green remains committed to supporting Burgess as she competes for the prestigious Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. His recent appearance on Fox’s “Celebrity Name That Tune” showcased his ability to balance work with family commitments, an effort he described as “holding down the fort” while Burgess re-engages with the competitive dance world.
Addressing the hectic schedule of “Dancing with the Stars,” Green remarked that the pace is different from what he and Burgess have been accustomed to. “It’s just taking getting used to,” he noted, adding that they are adjusting their lives to accommodate the demands of the competition. “It is going okay, but it’s going to be really busy for the next month and a half if she makes it all the way to the end.”
Burgess’s return to “Dancing with the Stars” follows an announcement made on August 24, signalling her first appearance since 2021, when she partnered with Green himself. This season, she is teamed up with reality star Tyler Cameron, and the duo has quickly developed a close bond throughout the competition.
Burgess expressed her gratitude for the friendship that has blossomed between her and Cameron, stating, “I’ve done this show for a long time. Every now and then, you meet a human where you’re like, ‘Oh, wait, we’re really forming a beautiful friendship and connection here.’” She went on to say that their relationship is characterised by “love and respect” for each other, and she appreciates the support they provide one another during challenging times.
The duo has received accolades for their performances, earning their highest score of the season during the “Mariah Carey Night” on October 6, where they scored 21 out of 30. Cameron expressed his appreciation for Burgess, stating, “She poured into me. She picked me up from a very low place at the end of last week, and here we are today. I feel like we nailed it from start to end, and I’m very proud and very grateful for all the work that she’s putting in with me.”
In addition to their busy schedules, Green and Burgess recently took Zane to Disneyland for the first time, sharing joyful moments from the outing on Instagram. As they navigate the complexities of family life alongside Burgess’s television commitments, the couple is dedicated to making the most of their time together.
“Dancing with the Stars” airs live on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET via ABC and Disney+, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Hulu. As the 35th season progresses, viewers can expect to see performances filled with passion, dedication, and the unwavering support of loved ones behind the scenes.
