A Texas woman has been arrested following a shocking incident in which she allegedly stabbed her husband and their two young children at their home in Northlake. Holly Flores, 37, was taken into custody on 6th October after her husband, aged 34, called the police shortly after 4:30 a.m. to report that she had attacked him and their children.

Upon officers’ arrival, they found the husband suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound to his head. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital for treatment. The couple’s three-year-old daughter and ten-month-old son were also discovered with stab wounds to their chests and were subsequently taken to the hospital. Fortunately, both children are expected to recover and are currently being kept under observation, according to Northlake Police Chief Robert Crawford.
While Holly Flores was also treated at the hospital for minor injuries, she was later booked into the Denton County Jail. She faces serious charges including two counts of attempted capital murder concerning a child under the age of 10, along with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The incident raises additional concerns, as police revealed that they had conducted five welfare visits to the Flores residence since March of this year. Chief Crawford expressed concern over the repeated visits, stating that they had been aware of potential issues within the family. He described the situation as “very, very heartbreaking,” urging the community to offer support and prayers for both the family and the officers involved in the case.
According to officials, while they are gathering more context around the family’s background, details concerning the nature of previous interventions will be released as they become available. Chief Crawford emphasised the emotional toll incidents like this take on law enforcement, stating, “Most people don’t see tragedies like this in a lifetime. We see it several times through our career and, after a while, that weighs on you.”

In light of the disturbing events, community members are left grappling with the implications of domestic violence. The Northlake Police Department is actively conducting an ongoing investigation to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have urged anyone who may be struggling with issues of domestic violence to reach out for assistance.
For those facing domestic violence, resources are available, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline, which provides confidential support and assistance 24/7. The hotline can be reached at 1-800-799-7233 or online at thehotline.org, offering services in over 170 languages.
As investigations continue, the local community mourns the tragic events that unfolded, reflecting on the far-reaching impacts of domestic violence and the urgent need for awareness and support.
