Aerosmith, the iconic rock band famed for hits like “Dream On,” has announced two special concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, scheduled for 29 October and 1 November. This marks a significant return for the group, as it had previously indicated a retirement from touring, following a vocal injury sustained by frontman Steven Tyler.

The announcement of the shows comes after Tyler suffered a larynx fracture during a performance in 2023, which prompted Aerosmith to cancel its much-anticipated farewell tour that was set to kick off in 2024. The concerts, branded as “Dream On: Aerosmith & Friends,” aim to showcase not only the band’s legendary music but also to feature an eclectic lineup of guest artists from various musical genres.

Joining Aerosmith at the Hollywood Bowl will be an array of distinguished musicians, including the Black Crowes, RUN DMC, and Heart. Other notable acts set to perform alongside them include Billy Idol, Eric Church, and Andrew Watt. Additionally, the star-studded event will welcome renowned musicians such as Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Slash and Duff McKagan from Guns N’ Roses, and Jerry Cantrell with Mike Inez of Alice in Chains, among others.

Aerosmith has gained a reputation for collaborations with a wide range of artists over the years, and this concert series appears to reflect the band’s influence on many of these performers. Don Was will serve as the music director for the events, and concertgoers can expect unique lineups for each night, with some surprises still to be announced in the lead-up to the shows.
In a video shared on social media, Tyler was seen attempting to adjust the marquee at the Hollywood Bowl to promote the upcoming concerts. When asked by famed photographer Ross Halfin if he misses performing, Tyler candidly responded, “Of all the things I ever missed, I miss my mind the most,” a nod to the challenges he has faced since his vocal injury.
Despite the tumultuous past year, Tyler has made select appearances, including a touching tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne during the MTV VMAs earlier this year. Additionally, he performed at his annual Jam for Janie event, which took place at the Hollywood Palladium, further demonstrating his enduring passion for live music.
However, the journey back to performing has not been without its complications. Guitarist Joe Perry previously conveyed in an interview that Tyler has expressed reluctance to return to the road. Perry commented, “I would bet that there’s an Aerosmith show left,” suggesting that while touring might not be on the horizon, the band still has the potential for future performances.
Aerosmith remains a powerhouse in rock music, featuring founding members Tyler and Perry alongside bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Brad Whitford. The band released a new EP titled “One More Time” in late 2025, featuring a collaboration with Yungblud, further solidifying their relevance in today’s music scene.
For fans eager to witness the band’s return to the stage, presale tickets will be available to Citi cardmembers from 8 October at 10 a.m. PDT until 9 October at 10 a.m. PDT. Additional presales will follow throughout the week, before the general public sale begins on 10 October at 10 a.m. PDT.
As Aerosmith gears up for this much-anticipated concert series, anticipation is building among fans who have longed for the chance to hear the band’s legendary music live once more.
