A significant legal development has emerged involving Kroy Biermann Jr., the 15-year-old son of reality television star Kim Zolciak and former professional football player Kroy Biermann. Facing serious allegations, the teenager has entered a plea of not guilty in a sexual assault case that has garnered considerable public attention.

In court documents acquired by various media outlets, it has been reported that KJ has been indicted on multiple counts, including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, false imprisonment, and three counts of sexual battery involving a minor under the age of 16. These allegations reportedly stem from an incident believed to have occurred back on April 23, 2026. KJ’s legal representative, Jason Sheffield, officially filed the not guilty plea with Fulton County Superior Court on 5 October, waiving the need for a formal arraignment, which is planned for the following week.

The legal situation escalated further when KJ was taken into custody on 17 August in Alpharetta, Georgia, and initially held without bail at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center in Atlanta. Sheffield has expressed his dismay at KJ’s arrest, stating that the young man is both presumed innocent and, in his opinion, truly innocent of the charges described.
In September, KJ was granted bail set at $200,000 by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Melynee Leftridge. Upon his release, he was placed under specific conditions, including residing with his mother and wearing a GPS ankle monitor, while participating in virtual schooling. Restrictions have also been placed on his communications, prohibiting contact with the alleged victim, her family, and anyone under the age of 16.
The bond hearing revealed troubling details, with Fulton County Deputy District Attorney Caitlin McGillicuddy informing the court that investigators had found videos on KJ’s phone that allegedly depicted him engaging in sexually explicit acts and using derogatory language toward a family member younger than 12 years old. This prompted McGillicuddy to highlight that this marked the second serious sexual offence charge against him involving female victims, underscoring the severity of the case.
Sheffield described the situation as extremely traumatic for KJ, who he characterised as a quiet and reserved individual. While advocating for KJ’s release on lesser bail, McGillicuddy argued that the alleged victim had sustained documented physical injuries and described the behaviour as predatory in nature, leading her office to press for a higher bail amount should the court decide to grant it.
KJ is one of six children shared by Zolciak and Biermann, who are currently navigating a challenging divorce process. The couple, who were married for approximately twelve years, filed for divorce in April 2023, only to reportedly reconsider their decision in July. That reconciliation, however, was short-lived, as Biermann refiled for divorce in August of the same year.
As the case unfolds, there has been a notable absence of public comment from both Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann, as well as from legal representatives associated with KJ. It remains to be seen how the legal proceedings will develop in the coming weeks, particularly with the upcoming arraignment scheduled.
The seriousness of the allegations and the legal ramifications involved highlight ongoing discussions regarding the safeguarding of minors and the judicial process in cases of sexual offences. As this distressing case progresses, it will undoubtedly continue to elicit interest and concern from the public.
