Bert Kreischer, the creator and lead star of the Netflix comedy series *Free Bert*, recently opened up about his experiences on set, including the unusual challenges he faces while filming. The show, which portrays the Kreischer family’s transition to Beverly Hills after his daughters’ enrolment in an elite private school, has resonated with audiences. Kreischer’s outrageous antics and candid storytelling form the backbone of the series, set to return for its second season in January 2027.
Kreischer, at 53, is known for his willingness to embrace outrageous stunts. However, he revealed that his wife’s intervention prevented him from attempting a perilous free-fall stunt while on blood thinners. “There was a free-fall stunt that was fairly dangerous that I tried to do, and my wife pulled the plug,” he explained. His wife, LeeAnn, insisted that if he were to injure himself, it could jeopardise the production. “You ain’t doing it,” she reportedly told him, a sentiment Kreischer comically mimicked by adopting her Southern accent.

Despite pledging to heed his wife’s caution, Kreischer admitted to bending the rules slightly on the day of filming. “Things were becoming complicated,” he recalled, reflecting on his temptation to engage in the stunt regardless. “Wouldn’t it just be easier if I did a little bit of it? Just make it happen,” he suggested, embodying the risk-taking spirit that has become synonymous with his persona.
*Free Bert* takes a humorous look at Kreischer’s desire to fit in with the more sophisticated expectations of Beverly Hills life, contrasting his famously loud and unfiltered personality with the polished social circles surrounding his daughters, Georgia and Ila. The show explores Kreischer’s comedic attempts to adapt to a new lifestyle while managing the subtleties of parenting. He quipped about the show’s humorous premise, noting that his biggest challenge involved simply “putting on a shirt.”
When asked if there were stunts he would refuse to perform, Kreischer said he prides himself on his adventurous spirit. However, he has become more discerning about the types of stunts he will undertake following a serious injury he sustained during the filming of another project, *The Machine*. “I’ve gotten a little better about doing my stunts. I blew out my tricep and ripped it off my arm,” he lamented, but still affirmed his willingness to embrace challenge: “I’d do anything. And full frontal nudity, 100%. I think it’s in this season.”
The first season of *Free Bert*, comprised of six episodes, offered a reflective glimpse into Kreischer’s life as he navigates the ups and downs of parenting alongside his comedic career. Surprisingly, the emotional resonance of his family’s struggles struck a chord with many viewers, leading Kreischer to realise the relatable nature of his experiences. “I didn’t expect so many people to identify with our family,” he admitted, emphasising the community shared among parents facing similar hurdles in life.
A particularly notable endorsement came from pop superstar Justin Timberlake, who Kreischer learned is also a fan of the series. In an amusing encounter, a friend shared that Timberlake gathered his family to view *Free Bert* while on holiday in Hawaii. Kreischer recounted her excitement in offering to connect him with the famed musician. “I was like, ‘The Justin Timberlake?’ I couldn’t believe it,” he laughed, expressing his appreciation for the unexpected recognition.
Overall, Kreischer’s blend of humour, sincerity, and risk-taking continue to captivate audiences, showcasing his remarkable ability to engage viewers. As anticipation builds for the second season of *Free Bert*, Kreischer reflects on how far the series has come, particularly given its reception among household names. With the season set to premiere in January 2027, fans can expect more of Kreischer’s adventures in mischief, laughter, and inspiration as he navigates his evolving family life.
