Shari Belafonte has spoken fondly about her time working with renowned actresses Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon on the Apple TV series, The Morning Show. During an event on 27 September in Los Angeles, Belafonte shared her admiration for her co-stars, proclaiming them to be among the “sweetest people on the planet.”

In an interview with PEOPLE, the actress, who portrays a crew member named Julia on the show, defended celebrities against the common accusations of being aloof. “A lot of times,” she remarked, “I think celebrities get a bad rap, and that just wasn’t the case with Aniston and Witherspoon. They were terrific.” Belafonte emphasised how Aniston and Witherspoon actively looked out for their colleagues, stating, “They took care of our cast and our crew.”
Belafonte’s experiences on set were enriched by the camaraderie shared among the cast and crew, leading to memorable celebrations upon the completion of the series’ fifth and final season, which wrapped up in August. She disclosed that Aniston hosted a delightful gathering at her home, followed by a larger farewell event at the historic Roosevelt Hotel.

The actress explained that bidding farewell to the Morning Show family was often tinged with sadness, yet she remained optimistic about reuniting with her colleagues in the future. “It’s always sort of sad and melancholy to have to say goodbye,” Belafonte acknowledged. “But oftentimes, especially when you’re in the business, you get to see them again.” She noted that connections in the industry tend to continue, allowing for a sense of assurance that these relationships endure beyond the set.
While details regarding the highly anticipated fifth season remain scarce, Belafonte hinted at an intriguing storyline without divulging too much. When asked about the upcoming season, set to premiere in 2027, she said, “I can’t tell you what’s gonna happen on the next season…but I’m still on it, which is a good sign.” The actress added that there would be “a lot of intrigue” and “AI-related conversations,” enticing fans to stay tuned for more information.

In late July, Apple TV announced that the fifth season would be the show’s final chapter. Alongside the farewell, they unveiled a cast of new characters, which includes notable names such as Jeff Daniels, Reneé Rapp, Jesse Williams, Sean Hayes, and Lizzy Caplan.
Aniston, who also serves as an executive producer on the series, reflected on the opportunity to conclude the narrative with thoughtfulness and care. “Going in knowing it would be our last, we were so fortunate to craft the conclusion with intentionality, and honour these characters the way they deserve,” she stated in a press release.
Witherspoon, equally as invested in the project as an executive producer, described her tenure on The Morning Show as “the honour of a lifetime.” She expressed the significance of the show’s narrative, stating, “This was always more than a show about a newsroom — it was a show about why the newsroom matters” and highlighted the critical role of journalists in protecting the freedom of the press.
As the excitement builds for the final season of The Morning Show, Belafonte’s reflections on her experiences alongside Aniston and Witherspoon offer a glimpse into the positive atmosphere behind the scenes. With a combination of drama, humour, and critical commentary on contemporary issues, fans are eagerly waiting to see how this beloved show will conclude when it returns to Apple TV in 2027.
