Pilot Stabbed in Cockpit During ‘Violent’ Suspected Hijacking Attempt as Plane Suddenly Drops 17,000 Feet

Fortunately, all 150 passengers aboard the Boeing 737, Flight FZ1073, landed safely at Tabuk Airport and were reported to be unharmed.

Reports indicate that the situation escalated at approximately 9 a.m. local time, when the aircraft transmitted a hijacking signal as it approached Israeli airspace. Following this distress signal, the plane briefly disappeared from tracking systems for roughly half an hour before resurfacing and rerouting to Tabuk. Both Reuters and the Israeli news outlet N12 provided updates about the alarming circumstances surrounding the flight.

An Israeli official has claimed that the co-pilot, identified as having Omani origins, allegedly stabbed the captain during the flight. One passenger recounted the harrowing experience, stating that as soon as the word “stabbing” was heard, her husband rushed to the front to assist in neutralising the alleged assailant, alongside other passengers.
