Starbucks is set to launch an innovative beverage, the Aerocano, on 29th September, just in time for National Coffee Day. This new offering presents a contemporary twist on the classic Iced Americano, featuring air-whipped blonde espresso that promises to provide a light foam and a smooth, coffee-forward flavour. The arrival of the Aerocano is particularly timely as it will coincide with the debut of three autumn-inspired mini pies: apple crumble, pecan, and pumpkin.

The introduction of the Aerocano in the United States follows its earlier release in South Korea earlier this year. According to Starbucks, the aeration technique used in creating the drink not only results in a visually appealing cascading effect but also contributes to a beautifully silky texture. Those fortunate enough to sample the drink ahead of its public release reported that the absence of milk or cold foam allowed for a pure, unadulterated coffee experience, highlighting the drink’s bold flavour profile.
Crafted with blonde espresso, the Aerocano is designed to cater to coffee aficionados looking for a refreshing yet robust beverage. Feedback from the early tastings suggests that the drink’s distinct flavour eliminates the need for added creamers or sweeteners. However, for customers who prefer a touch of sweetness, the Aerocano can be customised with various syrups, including caramel.

The launch of the Aerocano comes amidst a busy season for Starbucks, as the company has also unveiled additional seasonal offerings. The mini pies, which feature comforting flavours reminiscent of autumn, are described by the brand as containing tender apples paired with buttery streusel, toasted pecans with caramelised sweetness, and a creamy pumpkin filling accented with warm fall spices. These treats are likely to resonate well with customers looking to indulge in seasonal flavours.
Moreover, just prior to this announcement, Starbucks revealed a selection of character-inspired secret menu items, coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the beloved animated classic “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.” This collection was introduced alongside a range of collectible items that celebrate the nostalgic theme, further enhancing Starbucks’ creative seasonal offerings.

In addition to the Aerocano and the mini pies, Starbucks plans to introduce a limited-time Black Cat Frappuccino on 22nd October in select locations across the United States, complete with a matching black cookie. This chocolate cake-flavoured beverage features a unique swirl of whipped cream and is topped with a whimsical cat-ear-shaped chocolate decoration.
The Black Night Cookie, described as a ‘large’ and ‘shareable’ treat, combines cocoa with caramel fudge pieces and caramelised white chocolate, adding to the Halloween spirit. Through these inventive drinks and treats, Starbucks aims to provide customers with seasonal delights that complement the changing tastes associated with autumn.
With the excitement building around the Aerocano release and accompanying seasonal items, Starbucks appears poised to attract not only coffee lovers but also those seeking a festive experience in its stores. As the coffee chain continues to innovate its menu offerings, customers can look forward to both familiar flavours and new surprises throughout the autumn season.
