Jamie Stone, a prominent influencer known for her engaging beauty and lifestyle content, recently shared her transformative experience with rhinoplasty, a procedure she initially underwent nearly a decade ago. The 35-year-old opened up about her distressing results from her first surgery, which she had at 25, and her subsequent journey to find a satisfactory solution.
Following her initial rhinoplasty, Stone found herself grappling with an unsatisfactory outcome that left her with a nose she characterised as flat, crooked, and upturned. Compounding her disappointment, she suffered from persistent breathing complications, which only magnified her insecurities. The influencer explained how her discomfort with her appearance led her to become highly self-conscious, resulting in her consciously angling away from cameras to maintain her confidence during social events.

“I learned how to take pictures and film exclusively from my right side, as it was at least more flattering than my left,” Stone recounted in an Instagram post shared on August 10. The emotional toll of her experience was profound, as she felt increasingly anxious about being photographed or captured unexpectedly in her friends’ videos.
After living nearly a decade with these lingering insecurities, Stone decided to pursue a revision rhinoplasty and documented her journey to Istanbul for the procedure. Previously quoted exorbitantly for a revision in the United States—around £24,000—she opted for a more financially viable route in Turkey, where she believed she could receive the necessary care.
Stone’s research on potential surgeons was thorough; she meticulously reviewed doctors, scrutinised their credentials, and examined patient feedback. Eventually, she chose Dr Selim Turan, believing he possessed the skills required for her medically necessary reconstruction. “It was crucial for me to find a highly skilled doctor,” she remarked.

Once in Istanbul, Stone underwent a detailed pre-surgery process that included paperwork, blood tests, and consultations with medical staff. Equipped with a comprehensive written list of her aesthetic goals, she met with Dr Turan, hoping for a new beginning.
The surgery itself was completed without complications and lasted approximately four hours. Stone described the immediate aftermath as manageable, with a notable improvement in her breathing after the turbinate reduction, which addressed the tissue that had swelled due to her first rhinoplasty. She spent her first night in the hospital, reassured by dedicated nursing staff who communicated in English and provided her with care.
In subsequent days, while the initial recovery was relatively smooth, Stone quickly experienced the more challenging aspects of post-operative care. Swelling and discomfort were part of her early experience, but Stone remained committed to following a strict recovery regimen. She documented her nursing care and provided insights into the emotional rollercoaster that she faced as a result.
Reflecting on her surgery, Stone said Dr Turan explained the complexity involved in her reconstruction, revealing that her cartilage had been poorly positioned inside her nose. “He told me that my cartilage was floating around without any structural support, which would have worsened over time,” she shared.
After only six days, Stone returned to the surgery centre for cast removal, a moment filled with anxiety and anticipation. Although she was aware that the final results could take weeks to fully show, the immediate reveal of her redefined nose was an emotional experience. “At first, I didn’t love my nose, but as I continued to look at it, I appreciated the transformation,” she disclosed.
After the cast was removed, Stone’s aftercare regimen intensified. In stark contrast to her first experience, she was required to follow a much more rigorous routine to support her healing. This included frequent nasal rinses and the use of retainers to promote recovery.
Despite the physical changes being significant, Stone noted that adjusting to her new appearance also took an emotional toll. Once home, she continued to document her recovery, sharing her feelings of shock and surprise at how different she looked without the cast. “It’s really a major adjustment,” she commented, expressing how the change felt overwhelming at times.
Stone credited her supportive partner and open lines of communication with Dr Turan for aiding her recovery process. She noted that the doctor had assured her that if she remained unsatisfied with the results, he would offer further corrective surgery at no additional cost.
As weeks passed, Stone continued to update her followers on her progress. In a recent post, she indicated that she no longer required tape during the day, although she still adhered to her night-time retainer regimen. Her candidness about the challenges and triumphs of navigating the cosmetic surgery world has resonated with her audience, inspiring many who might face similar struggles.
