At 25 years old and 37 weeks into her pregnancy, Gilbert-Wilmath is eagerly anticipating the arrival of her daughter, whom she plans to name Collins Elizabeth. Her love for TJ Maxx, which she attributes to her mother’s influence during her childhood, has shaped her shopping habits and love for fashion. “I might be one of TJ Maxx’s biggest fans! From a young age, my mum instilled in me a love for fashion and having a great sense of style,” she shared.
The shower included red, white, and pink decorations, along with playful elements like a mini shopping cart that captured the essence of the beloved discount department store. Dawson, who took it upon herself to ensure the event reflected Gilbert-Wilmath’s personality, noted the importance of balancing elegance with fun. “The theme was my idea. I knew that Grace loved shopping at TJ Maxx and that her little girl absolutely would too,” she explained.
Dawson aimed to create a sophisticated yet charming ambience, resulting in decorations that combined classic palettes with whimsical touches. “We started with a colour palette of red and white and added in pops of pink to make it girly,” she said, highlighting a collaborative effort with co-planners Krystina Israel and Brooklyn Medlock to source decorations and flowers.
Of all the elements at the shower, Dawson expressed her joy in simply witnessing her friend being celebrated. The event garnered attention online, with many admiring the unique theme, much to Dawson’s delight. “I was so proud of the shower and loved creating something so personal to my friend. It was so gratifying to see how many other people loved it too,” she noted.
For Gilbert-Wilmath, the anticipation of Collins’ arrival comes with the excitement of sharing her passion for TJ Maxx with her daughter.
