Brandi Glanville, a former cast member of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” has recently revealed the depth of her health and financial struggles, describing her situation as a “nightmare.” The 53-year-old television personality spoke candidly on her podcast “Unfiltered,” discussing the costly treatment she has been undergoing for a facial parasite that has left her disfigured.

Glanville shared that her health issues have severely impacted her finances, revealing that she is currently spending over £16,000 a month on medical expenses related to her condition. Her struggle has been compounded by the challenges of navigating the healthcare system, as she has faced multiple diagnoses, including a fungal infection and antibiotic-resistant bacteria, over the past few years. Despite her ongoing therapy, she has reportedly exhausted her savings amid the mounting medical bills.

In a bid to alleviate her financial burden, Glanville’s close friend Gina Rodriguez initiated a GoFundMe campaign, which has successfully raised over £22,000 in just two weeks. However, Glanville expressed her mixed feelings about this fundraising effort, stating that she feels uncomfortable asking for help. In her podcast, she disclosed her vulnerability, stating, “I’m excited to share all of the medical stuff that’s going on and really get into it. It’s been a nightmare but there’s been a few girls that have had it worse. But ultimately, I’m still not super excited about having a GoFundMe.”

During the conversation with her co-host James Maas, Glanville was adamant about her intent to repay all individuals who have contributed to her GoFundMe. She expressed gratitude to her supporters, reassuring them that she is determined to recover and return to work. “I know I’ll work again, I just have to get better first and then I can do anything,” she stated. Glanville added that her ambition is to pay everyone back and that she is considering a payment plan for her credit card debt as a part of her recovery strategy.
Despite her desire for transparency, Glanville revealed the emotional toll that her circumstances have taken on her. She explained that the stigma surrounding her financial struggles has left her feeling embarrassed and overwhelmed. “Even with my insurance, it’s £7,000 a week and then I have creditors calling me all day,” she lamented. “I never thought I would do this,” she added, referring to the need to fundraise for her medical treatment.
On another occasion, during a September 11 episode of her podcast, Glanville broke down in tears, sharing her feelings of inadequacy and despair. “I’m just spent in every way and I don’t want anyone to see it,” she expressed through tears. “But I don’t know what to do…I feel like a loser, I feel like I definitely hit rock bottom.”
As Glanville navigates this difficult chapter in her life, her openness about her struggles may resonate with those facing similar health or financial issues. While she remains hopeful about her recovery, the path ahead looks challenging, requiring both medical intervention and, potentially, community support.
Despite the challenges, Glanville maintains her resolve to overcome these hurdles, underscoring the importance of resilience during tough times. She emphasises her belief that brighter days are on the horizon, stating, “I’m gonna get better. It might take a year, I don’t know.”
As her story unfolds, many are rallying around Glanville, both in support and solidarity. Her candid discussions regarding the realities of medical expenses and the precarious nature of health have sparked broader conversations about the importance of community in times of need.
