Newly released bodycam footage has brought to light a tense incident involving WNBA star Paige Bueckers and her teammate Arike Ogunbowale during a recent arrest in Miami. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of March 5, has raised significant attention after it was confirmed that Ogunbowale was accused of attacking a man at a local nightclub.
Ogunbowale, 29, faced charges of misdemeanor battery following an altercation at Club E11EVEN, where she was alleged to have punched a security staff member in the face. Ogunbowale’s defence attorney, Mitch Schuster, expressed relief at the dismissal of the charges, affirming the athlete’s positive character and saying, “We are pleased that the State Attorney’s Office has exercised its discretion and elected not to move forward with this matter.” The attorney further remarked that the resolution would allow Ogunbowale to concentrate on her professional commitments without the shadow of legal issues.
Since being drafted by the Wings in 2019, Ogunbowale has enjoyed a successful career, gaining recognition as a four-time WNBA All-Star. She also recently participated in the offseason with the Mist in the Unrivaled basketball league, where she contributed to her team’s 2026 championship win.
