**Star Meat Delivery Inc. Issues Major Recall of Uninspected Meat Products**

In a concerning development for consumers, Star Meat Delivery Inc., based in North Carolina, has announced a significant recall of over 167,000 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat meat items. The announcement, made on September 22 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), reveals that these products were produced without the necessary federal inspection, and they carry misleading labels with a counterfeit USDA mark.

The recall affects a wide range of meat products, which were distributed by A&D Foods, a distributor located in Georgia. The recalled items include various cuts of meat, such as goat products, beef oxtail, pork chorizo, pork chops, and beef ribs, among others. Each of these products is packed in cardboard boxes and was sent out to retailers and restaurants across the United States.

According to the FSIS, the products in question are marked with a “false USDA mark of inspection” and bear the establishment number ‘EST. 1363.’ This number, the FSIS noted, does not have a federal grant of inspection, meaning the products cannot be guaranteed safe for consumption. The agency characterised the recall with a Class I designation, indicating a “high or medium risk” to health. The classification suggests that the consumption of these products involves a significant risk of causing serious, adverse health consequences or even death. Despite the severity of the situation, there have been no reports of illnesses or injuries linked to the consumption of the affected meat items thus far.

The FSIS emphasised the potential dangers of consuming uninspected products, noting that such items may contain undeclared allergens or harmful bacteria that pose serious health risks. In light of the recall, they recommended that consumers, retailers, and restaurant owners immediately check their fridges and freezers for any of the recalled products, advising against consumption, sale, or service of these items.

Consumers are encouraged to discard the affected meat products or return them to their point of purchase. The FSIS noted that the recalled items were produced at various times up to September 22, 2026, which indicates that some products could still be found in circulation.

Moreover, the FSIS highlighted that although these products were initially distributed in bulk packaging, individual consumer packages may have been repackaged by retail stores, which could complicate identification. Many retailers may have added their own pricing labels and safe handling instructions, which could mislead consumers further.
