In an Instagram video posted on 23rd September, the Giadzy founder thanked her fans for their unwavering encouragement throughout her journey on the show. She acknowledged the impact of her participation, particularly as an inspiration to women in their 50s who might be hesitant to try new things. “Try something that scares you, because honestly, guys, it is a rush,” she advised her audience.

De Laurentiis also credited her 18-year-old daughter, Jade, as a significant source of motivation during her time on DWTS. Jade, who is studying at New York University, has been an enthusiastic supporter, frequently cheering on her mother and even recreating some of the choreography in a show of solidarity. “Watching Jade watch me dance, to me, that… was everything,” De Laurentiis shared, highlighting the emotional connection and pride she felt in presenting a strong example for her daughter.

Throughout the competition, she developed a close bond with her dance partner, Alan Bersten. De Laurentiis praised his patience and encouragement, which helped her to stay focused and determined. “He was such a loving partner, truly,” she remarked, emphasising the positive experience they shared on the dance floor.
The celebrity chef’s elimination came after she and Bersten performed a salsa to Becky G’s song “CHULA” during the “Viral Hits Night” episode, which aired on 22nd September. The pair’s performance featured impressive flips and lifts, although it ultimately scored 12 out of 30 points from the judges. Feedback from the judges varied, with one noting that De Laurentiis’s salsa lacked some energy while another described it as “salsa without spice.”
Despite the mixed reviews, De Laurentiis remained upbeat about her performance. She acknowledged the constructive criticism and reflected on her efforts, stating, “I think I tried my best. It wasn’t best enough, but I tried my best.” This attitude encapsulates her approach to the entire experience—facing challenges head-on rather than shying away from them.
Speaking to PEOPLE shortly after her DWTS debut on 16th September, De Laurentiis elaborated on her reasons for participating in the competition. “It’s never too late to face your fears, no matter how old you are,” she remarked, highlighting a vital message for her daughter and women everywhere. Emphasising perseverance, she encouraged others to confront their fears, regardless of age.
As her journey on DWTS comes to a close, De Laurentiis reflected positively on the connections she made and the lessons learned. “I met a lot of cool people and had a great time,” she stated. “I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, and I think that’s what life’s all about.”
With her participation in DWTS, Giada De Laurentiis has not only entertained viewers but has also delivered an empowering message: it is never too late to take risks and embrace new challenges. As she looks ahead, she plans to continue supporting her fellow contestants, embodying the spirit of camaraderie that is so integral to the essence of the show.
