NBC is set to launch a gripping new crime drama titled *Line of Fire* on 21 September. The series, which centres around the Hollingsworth family, brings viewers into the thrill and tension of federal law enforcement and promises a unique blend of suspense, action, and family dynamics.

At the heart of the series is Mike Hollingsworth, portrayed by Peter Krause, who is a dedicated Secret Service agent. He is joined by his wife Jane, played by Hope Davis, who serves as a U.S. Marshal. Their children add to the mix: Clare, played by Kat Cunning, is an FBI agent; their son Mike “Micah,” portrayed by Tommy O’Brien, also works for the Secret Service; and Russ, played by Taylor Bloom, is a Department of Justice analyst. The family finds themselves at the centre of a deadly conspiracy when an elusive assassin begins to target them, propelling them into a race for survival.
Describing the show, Krause remarked at a recent Emmys event that *Line of Fire* delivers on multiple levels. “It’s a great suspense-thriller, family-drama-comedy,” he noted, hinting at significant plot twists that promise to captivate audiences week after week. He teased, “There are some surprises that I can’t tell you about. Major surprises that propel the series forward, a cliffhanger every episode. Probably one of the most exciting TV series I’ve done.”
The creators of the show anticipate resonating not just within the crime and justice genre but also with family-centric storytelling. Executive produced by Jenna Bush Hager, the series draws on her experiences inside the White House during her father George W. Bush’s presidency. Joshua Safran, the creator, emphasised that while the storyline does incorporate elements inspired by Hager’s life, it is not strictly autobiographical and takes various creative liberties.
The inaugural season of *Line of Fire* comprises ten episodes. Both Krause and Davis have expressed excitement about their collaboration, with Davis acknowledging the talent of the younger cast members who play their children. She commented, “We’re all kind of pinching ourselves. This is the most delightful group,” further emphasising the positive atmosphere on set.
Additionally, the show includes notable guest stars, such as *Law & Order* veteran Sam Waterston, who will appear as former President Thomas Barnes. Others, including Campbell Scott and Chris Chalk, have also been cast in various guest roles, adding to the star power of the series.
New episodes of *Line of Fire* are scheduled to air on Monday evenings, making it a weekly highlight for fans of the genre. The premiere episode will debut on 21 September, followed closely by the second episode, “A Bigger Picture,” on 28 September. While the exact date for the season finale remains unannounced, viewers can anticipate a regular Monday night slot.
