Jesse Metcalfe, the founder of skincare brand Nutrl Skin and a celebrated television actor, recently shared insights into his wellness routine, which he credits for his youthful appearance as he approaches his 48th birthday this December. Speaking at the CLD PR New York Fashion Week Kickoff Event, Metcalfe discussed his longstanding commitment to fitness and skincare, which he believes are integral to maintaining his health and looks.

Metcalfe, who first graced screens in the soap opera “Passions” almost 30 years ago, expressed surprise at the compliments he regularly receives regarding his skin. “People are genuinely shocked when I tell them I’ll be 48 soon,” he remarked while undergoing a Niagen Plus treatment at the event, held at the ModernHaus SoHo in New York City.

The actor’s dedication to fitness is noteworthy; he has been training like a professional athlete since he was 16 years old. “Fitness has become such a fundamental part of my lifestyle that it feels almost as natural as breathing,” Metcalfe explained. He emphasized the importance of consistency, stating, “I honestly can’t imagine my life without it.”
Alongside his fitness regimen, Metcalfe stresses the importance of hydration—both from inside out and through effective skincare. His line, Nutrl Skin, is designed to provide intense moisture, with four out of five products containing hyaluronic acid. “Keeping your skin properly hydrated is key,” he advised, highlighting the necessity of protecting the skin barrier as a vital aspect of skincare.
Sun protection is another core element of Metcalfe’s approach to skincare. He disclosed that he uses a sunscreen with SPF 50 each time he steps outdoors. “I never leave the house without applying sunscreen,” he asserted, underscoring its crucial role in preventing premature ageing.
The inspiration behind Nutrl Skin arose from Metcalfe’s teenage struggles with acne and the desire to create effective skincare solutions. He launched the brand in 2025, meticulously formulating the products himself because he found the skincare market confusing and intimidating. “I wanted to simplify the process and create a straightforward, lab-grade line that is clean and effective,” he stated.
Metcalfe is particularly passionate about encouraging men to engage in skincare, feeling that they are often neglected in this space. “Part of the reason I started my line aimed at men is because I realised they were largely left out of the skincare conversation,” he explained. Drawing from his battles with acne during adolescence and into his early twenties, Metcalfe has developed a broad knowledge of skincare, becoming comfortable with routines that many men may overlook.
He attributed much of his understanding and confidence in skincare practices to his mother, who supported and educated him during his teenage years. “Acne can severely impact one’s self-esteem, and I was fortunate to have a mother who guided me through it,” Metcalfe recalled. Nevertheless, he noted that many men shy away from skincare routines due to their complexity.
In a light-hearted moment, Metcalfe joked that his products are suitable for everyone, even suggesting that couples could share them. “You don’t need an extensive lineup of products cluttering your bathroom,” he quipped, simplifying the idea of skincare for all.
The CLD PR event, which showcased a host of brands including Pink Palm Puff and Baby Gold, also featured other notable figures such as Coco Rocha and Charity Lawson. Beyond the skincare conversation, Metcalfe mentioned his plans for the rest of Fashion Week, which included attending a show by his friend Jonathan Simkhai.
As he embraces this next chapter of his life, Jesse Metcalfe’s commitment to health, fitness, and skincare serves as an inspiration, not just for fellow actors, but for anyone seeking to enhance their well-being and beauty routine.
