Sheryl Lee Ralph has publicly apologised for remarks she made regarding her show *Abbott Elementary* during the 2026 Emmy Awards. The actress, known for her role as Barbara Howard in the popular sitcom, faced backlash after she suggested that her show was the “only real comedy” in a competitive category that featured several other strong contenders.
At the annual awards ceremony held on 14 September, Ralph made the controversial statement while speaking to E! News on the red carpet.
