Kandi Burruss has publicly responded to her ex-husband Todd Tucker’s revelations about their private life, highlighting the importance of discretion in marital matters. This latest development in their ongoing narrative follows Tucker’s comments regarding their history of threesomes during their 11-year marriage, shared in the trailer for his upcoming film, ‘Til Divorce Do Us Part.

Tucker made the claim that they had engaged in threesomes for a significant portion of their marriage, stating, “We did. I would say for most of our marriage we did.” His remarks have drawn sharp criticism from Burruss, the star of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ who is determined to emphasise the sanctity of their private life.
In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Burruss expressed her dismay, denouncing Tucker’s decision to share intimate details for commercial gain. “A man who has already hurt me to my core is furthering the damage by choosing to sensationalise our sex life to sell tickets,” she remarked. Importantly, she asserted that “what consensually happens between a husband and wife in the privacy of their marriage is exactly that—private.”

Burruss initiated divorce proceedings on 21 November 2025. At that time, she reflected upon the importance of prioritising her happiness and well-being. “After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” she noted. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
In a further statement, Burruss indicated her aspiration to embrace a fresh start. “I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth,” she expressed appreciation for the support she had received during her marriage and called for understanding as they navigate this significant life transition.
Despite their separation, the former couple remains committed to co-parenting their two children: son Ace, aged 10, and daughter Blaze, aged 6. Burruss is also the mother of a daughter named Riley from a previous relationship, while Tucker has a daughter, Kaela. In June 2025, they shared a glimpse into their co-parenting dynamic through a social media video, showcasing a family trip to Bermuda.
While on holiday, Burruss jokingly remarked, “We on this co-parenting trip,” before questioning Tucker about a book he was reading. Amidst a light-hearted exchange between them, Tucker held up his copy of ‘Daily Prayers for Men’. In response to his newfound interest in prayer, Burruss laughed, “Let me just say this… he should’ve started praying a long time ago.”
Their relationship began in 2011 during the filming of the fourth season of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’. Tucker proposed in January 2013, and the couple ultimately tied the knot in April 2014. Now, as they face the challenges of post-marital life, both Burruss and Tucker appear focused on their individual paths, particularly in the context of their children’s wellbeing.
Burruss’s strong stance after Tucker’s comments serves as a reminder of the public scrutiny faced by reality TV stars, as well as the complexities of navigating relationships in the public eye. As they move forward, it remains evident that both will continue to prioritise their roles as parents above all else.
