A flight bound for the Middle East witnessed alarming behaviour from two passengers who are alleged to have made violent threats and claimed to be armed. The incident occurred on Friday, September 11, aboard a Qatar Airways flight operating as VA7, which had taken off from Melbourne Airport in Australia.

Witnesses reported that the male passengers exhibited highly aggressive and restless behaviour shortly after boarding the aircraft. One unidentified woman described their actions to the Sydney Morning Herald, stating that both men were frequently standing up, moving about the cabin, and encroaching upon her personal space by attempting to search through her belongings. Qatar Airways issued a statement confirming the disturbance, stating: “We can confirm that two male passengers were involved in a physical altercation on board flight VA7 from Melbourne to Doha on Friday, operated by Qatar Airways. Both passengers were restrained and, upon arrival in Doha, were handed over to local authorities.” The airline underscored that the safety and wellbeing of its crew and passengers remain their highest priority.
