The first image from the series shows Chelsea beaming in a selfie with her teenage daughter, who stood proudly between her mother and stepfather, Cole DeBoer. The collection of photographs captured precious moments between mother and daughter over the years, showcasing the close bond they share.

“Seventeen. They say it goes by fast, but wow. To think that she is the same age I was when I first found out I was having her is…wild,” Chelsea wrote in her Instagram caption, conveying a mix of nostalgia and joy. She went on to commend Aubree’s character, stating, “I love the person she is and I’m excited to see the woman she will become. Happy HAPPY birthday Aubree ❤️.”

Chelsea first gained fame on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant in 2009, where she documented the challenges and triumphs of being a young mother after giving birth to Aubree, whom she shares with her former partner, Adam Lind. Following this appearance, she continued her journey on the reality series Teen Mom 2 from 2011 to 2019. Since marrying Cole in 2016, the couple has welcomed three more children together: Watson, Layne, and Walker.
In a recent interview with PauseRewind, Chelsea shared her thoughts on her time spent on MTV, expressing some regrets about the level of exposure her children, particularly Aubree, had during their formative years. “They were on TV so much, especially Aubree, in her early life. Looking back, I don’t know if I would choose that again at this point,” she reflected, acknowledging the scrutiny that comes with reality television.
Further elaborating on their experiences, Chelsea noted that she and Cole have become more discerning about how they represent their children on screen since transitioning from the Teen Mom series to their HGTV remodel show, Down Home Fab. “As we’ve gotten older and the kids have gotten older, we really want to be selective on how we show the kids, how much we show the kids, and just really try to protect them,” Chelsea explained.
In a separate conversation with PEOPLE earlier in 2023, Chelsea also revealed that she has launched a home line named ‘Aubree Says’, inspired by her oldest daughter. She expressed admiration for Aubree’s self-assured nature, stating, “I love Aubree because she’s always been so confident in who she is. If Aubree says it’s cool, then it’s cool, so I thought that was the perfect name for the brand itself.”
The launch of Aubree’s namesake brand reflects Chelsea’s pride in her daughter’s development and creativity. As Aubree enters adulthood, Chelsea’s post serves as a poignant reminder of their journey together, filled with both struggles and joys.
In her birthday post, Chelsea’s excitement about Aubree’s future resonates strongly with her followers, highlighting not only her affection for her daughter but also her awareness of the complexities of motherhood. The evolving relationship between Chelsea and Aubree appears to be rooted in mutual respect and understanding, something that bodes well for their futures.
As they both navigate new chapters in their lives, Chelsea is undoubtedly embracing each moment, cherishing the memories they have built, and anticipating the adventures that lie ahead. With a bright future ahead, both mother and daughter continue to inspire many with their candidness and relentless pursuit of happiness in their shared experiences.
