A 30-year-old man from Pennsylvania, Tylar Greenough, has been arrested following allegations of holding three individuals hostage, including his ex-girlfriend and her child, at a residence in Uniontown. According to a statement from the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office, Greenough’s alleged criminal activities began on the evening of 28 August, when he reportedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home by entering through a window. This intrusion was particularly egregious, as there was an active protection order in place against him, prohibiting any contact with his former partner.

In the subsequent days, it is claimed that Greenough kept the woman, her grandmother, and her juvenile child confined against their will. Reports indicate that he resorted to physical violence, with the affidavit revealing that he assaulted both adult women during this period of captivity. The ex-girlfriend informed authorities that Greenough’s aggression stemmed from his anger over her alleged romantic involvement with another man.

Gravely concerning is the assertion that Greenough made threats to murder the elderly woman and the child while compelling his ex-girlfriend to witness these threats. The affidavit suggests a particularly alarming scenario in which Greenough allegedly forced both the grandmother and the child into the trunk of a vehicle. He is said to have hidden in the back seat and instructed his ex-girlfriend to drive to a location for a prearranged meeting with the other man, intending to confront him.
When the man arrived, Greenough allegedly attempted to attack him after he entered the car. Following the man’s escape, Greenough purportedly tried multiple times to run him over with the vehicle. In a further chilling twist, he is accused of coercing his ex-girlfriend to file a false report against that man, claiming he had sexually abused her.
The ordeal finally came to an end when the women, along with the child, were able to contact police on 30 August, after Greenough had left for work. They promptly informed law enforcement of their harrowing experience, leading to Greenough’s arrest.
He now faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, kidnapping with the intent to inflict injury, burglary, unlawful restraint resulting in serious bodily injury, and making terroristic threats. Additionally, he stands accused of contempt for violating the protection order. As of now, details regarding his plea or legal representation remain unconfirmed in court records.
