**Robert Pattinson Returns to the Batsuit in Anticipated Sequel ‘The Batman: Part II’**

Robert Pattinson is set to reprise his role as Gotham’s vigilante in the upcoming sequel, *The Batman: Part II*, which is scheduled for release on February 18, 2028. The 40-year-old actor is currently immersed in filming the much-anticipated follow-up to 2022’s successful *The Batman*, directed by Matt Reeves.

In a candid interview with GQ, Pattinson discussed the challenges that come with stepping back into the iconic role. “I’m in London here till the end of the year doing a Batman sequel,” he stated. “It’s good. I’m definitely feeling my age when fighting a lot. I’m literally like, ‘Goddamn, this is significantly harder than it used to be.’” Despite the physical demands of the role, Pattinson expressed his enthusiasm for returning, saying, “But it’s really fun. And I think the movie’s going to be pretty great.”

The sequel promises to bring back familiar faces along with exciting new cast members. Jeffrey Wright will return as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell will demonstrate his transformation into the Penguin once more. New to the franchise is Sebastian Stan, who will portray Harvey Dent — a character notorious for his transformation into the villain Two-Face. Additionally, Scarlett Johansson will make her entry in a yet undisclosed role, alongside actors Charles Dance and Sebastian Koch, whose characters remain a mystery.

Pattinson’s journey as the Dark Knight began in 2022 with Matt Reeves’ noir-inspired *The Batman*. The film introduced Bruce Wayne in his second year as Batman, as he battled Paul Dano’s menacing Riddler while navigating a web of corruption afflicting Gotham City. With *The Batman: Part II* now set for a February 2028 release—having moved from its original October 2027 date—Pattinson is feeling the strain of his physically demanding schedule. Recently, he was spotted filming scenes that involved riding a motorcycle through snowy terrain, which he later confirmed was linked to Batman’s street-level alter ego, the Drifter. “Yeah, it’s me!” he laughed when asked about images that circulated from the set.

Amidst the excitement of this highly anticipated sequel, Pattinson acknowledged the busyness of his recent work schedule. The actor mentioned having worked almost continuously following the recent actors’ and writers’ strikes, after a brief hiatus allowed him time to rediscover his creative direction. He admitted to previously being involved in a project with director Adam McKay that ultimately fell through, leading to a reassessment of the types of roles he wanted to pursue.

The shift in focus resulted in a whirlwind of new opportunities, including films such as *Die My Love* with Jennifer Lawrence, *The Drama* with Zendaya, and the sci-fi epic *Dune: Part Three*. Pattinson is also stepping into the role of Chris Hansen in *Primetime*, a project he is producing himself. “I literally left Die My Love and flew to The Drama,” he explained, highlighting the intensity of his rapid successions of projects.

When *The Batman: Part II* finally wraps, Pattinson has clear plans for some well-deserved downtime. “At the end of this, I’m definitely taking a vacation,” he affirmed, signalling the need for a break after such a bustling schedule.

In addition to his film endeavours, Pattinson has developed a knack for watches, recently becoming a global ambassador for Jaeger-LeCoultre. His interest in the Swiss watchmaker was sparked during his teenage years when he borrowed his mother’s Reverso to impress schoolmates. This passion has only deepened since wearing the brand at the Academy Awards, where it garnered attention from fellow actors.

Interestingly, Pattinson continues a tradition within the Batman franchise, as Christian Bale also donned Jaeger-LeCoultre pieces in his portrayal of Bruce Wayne. “It is weird — as soon as you put the Reverso on, it definitely has a Bruce Wayne feel,” he remarked, emphasising the connection he feels with the character through the watch.
