In a recent interview, actress Gal Gadot shared her thoughts on exiting the role of Wonder Woman, a character she portrayed with enthusiasm across several DC Extended Universe (DCEU) films. During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Gadot expressed her concerns regarding how the transition was managed, particularly in light of new leadership within DC Studios.

As the DCEU underwent significant changes after filmmakers James Gunn and Peter Safran took command in 2022, Gadot’s hopes for a continuation of her role were dashed. She revealed that instead of being informed about the end of her time as Wonder Woman in a clear manner, she was misled about the potential development for a third instalment in her franchise. “They were like, ‘We’re going to develop it with you, the third,’ la la la,” Gadot stated, indicating her disappointment at not being treated with the transparency she expected.

Gadot’s tenure as Wonder Woman spanned two successful solo films, as well as the ensemble pieces *Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice* and *Justice League*.
