Grace Van Patten, the star of the popular series “Tell Me Lies,” has been announced as the face of Charlotte Tilbury’s latest innovations in their Airbrush Flawless range. The introduction of these new products includes the Airbrush Flawless Blur Loose Powder and the Airbrush Flawless Blush Blur, which are designed to seamlessly complement the brand’s previously established Airbrush Flawless products.

At just 29 years of age, Van Patten has reflected on how her relationship with makeup has evolved throughout her life. She recalls childhood memories of experimenting with cosmetics on her younger sister and cousin, marking the start of her beauty journey. Her very first significant purchase was from Charlotte Tilbury, a brand that would later play a pivotal role in her daily makeup routine.

In an exclusive interview, Van Patten expressed her excitement and nostalgia regarding her collaboration with renowned makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury. “This experience has been incredibly special and surreal,” she stated, highlighting how the brand has been a consistent presence in her life for as long as she can remember.

The new additions to the Airbrush Flawless line feature the Blur Loose Powder, which is available in seven shades, and the Blush Blur, offered in eleven shades. These products have quickly become integral to Van Patten’s everyday makeup routine. She emphasises the importance of makeup that feels and looks natural on the skin: “I just feel like it’s enhancing what I already have, so I really love the sentiment of the whole line,” she said.

Van Patten’s approach to makeup is largely informed by her history with skin texture issues. With an emphasis on achieving a natural appearance, she notes, “I tend to be pretty simple with my everyday look. I do feel like texture is a big thing for me…and when I do want to leave the house and put a little something on, I really love the Airbrush Concealer because a little goes a long way.” She describes the Airbrush Loose Powder as providing a “blurring, smoothing effect” that maintains a skin-like finish, which aligns perfectly with her desire for a “no-makeup makeup look.”

Though her current beauty philosophy prioritises simplicity, it wasn’t always this way. Van Patten reminisces about her youthful days spent joyfully applying makeup on her sister and cousin, a playful expression of creativity that she cherished. However, as she matured, her focus shifted, becoming primarily about external validation. “I feel like it was a lot about how people saw me opposed to how I felt about myself,” she explained, recalling moments from high school when she applied makeup that did not match her skin tone.

Despite some challenging experiences with makeup in her teenage years, Van Patten found her go-to product around that time: Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat lipliners. She proudly states that she keeps at least three in her bag at all times. “Whether it’s Pillow Talk, Iconic Nude, or Foxy Brown, they’ve become staples for me,” she shared. For her, these products provide a subtle boost of confidence even on days when she opts for a more minimal makeup approach.

As she approaches her thirties, Van Patten acknowledges that her relationship with cosmetics continues to evolve. In “Tell Me Lies,” Van Patten’s character, Lucy Albright, shares some similarities with her own makeup preferences. She enjoys experimenting with makeup for the character, which reflects the fun and excitement of youthful social events. “Makeup was a huge part of those characters’ lives and getting ready and girlhood,” she explained.

Beyond mere products, Van Patten has learned that beauty encompasses more than just makeup. It includes emotional and social aspects, such as the energy from those around her. “It can be who you’re surrounded by, how you’re feeling internally… I love how evolving it is and how it’s kind of day-to-day,” she concluded, revealing a holistic view of beauty that resonates beyond the cosmetic.
