Michael Strahan, co-anchor of “Good Morning America” and former football star, has recently announced the arrival of his fifth child, a baby girl, with his girlfriend, Kayla Quick. Reports suggest that the couple’s daughter was born earlier this year. This new addition comes as a joyous occasion for Strahan, who already has four children from previous relationships.

At 54 years old, Strahan is a father to daughters Tanita, 34, and Isabella, 21, as well as son Michael Jr., 31, with his ex-wife Wanda Hutchins. He also shares daughters Sophia, 20, with his former partner, Jean Muggli. The birth of his daughter with Quick marks a significant milestone in their relationship, which has blossomed since they began dating in 2015.

Though the couple tends to keep their relationship largely private, they have still managed to share pivotal moments with the public. Quick, 37, who is the co-founder of a wellness supplement company called FIZZNESS, has occasionally been seen at events with Strahan. Notably, she supported him during an important milestone: receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in January 2023. Furthermore, she has actively participated in family events, such as attending the high school graduation of Strahan’s twin daughters, Sophia and Isabella.
Strahan’s enthusiasm for fatherhood is well-documented. In past interviews, he has expressed how much strength and joy his children bring to his life. In a candid moment in 2016, he described his approach to managing a blended family. “My kids give me strength,” he noted, emphasising that family now holds utmost importance for him.
His dedication to fatherhood did not go unnoticed; in 2017, he received the Father of the Year Award from The National Father’s Day Committee. Strahan described the honour as reflective of his love for parenting, stating, “I love being a father. It’s absolutely the most joy you’re going to have in your life. It’s also the most stress you’re going to have.”
However, Strahan’s familial joy has not been without challenges. Late in 2023, the family faced a difficult period following the diagnosis of his daughter Isabella with medulloblastoma, a type of malignant brain tumour that typically occurs in the cerebellum. In January 2025, Strahan shared insights on how he coped with Isabella’s illness, describing his need to seek hope and positivity amidst the difficulties. He remarked that he was continually looking “to find the silver lining somewhere,” keenly aware that striking a balance during such a taxing period was essential.
Fortunately, there has been positive news surrounding Isabella’s health. As of June 2024, she is reported to be cancer-free after successfully completing her final round of chemotherapy. This triumph brings some relief to the Strahan family, allowing them to focus again on the joys of family life, especially with the addition of their new baby girl.
As Strahan embraces this next chapter as a father of five, his commitment to his children remains unwavering. Whether he’s navigating the complexities of a blended family or celebrating special moments, he continues to exemplify the dedication of a loving parent. As he publicly shares the joys and trials of fatherhood, Strahan reminds us all of the profound impact that family has on our lives.
In these changing times, the support of a partner and the love of children can make all the difference, and for Strahan and Quick, their growing family may hold the promise of new adventures ahead.
