KATSEYE, the popular girl group, has announced their withdrawal from Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival, following an unfortunate incident involving member Megan Skiendiel. The 20-year-old singer sprained her ankle during a rehearsal, prompting medical advice to avoid putting weight on the injury as she prepares for the upcoming tour.

In a statement released on Thursday, August 27, KATSEYE expressed their disappointment over the cancelled appearance at the highly anticipated festival. The group informed fans of the injury and issued a heartfelt apology, stating, “We’re so incredibly sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields this Saturday. Megan sprained her ankle during tour rehearsal, and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour.”
Skiendiel also took to social media to express her heartbreak over missing the event. She conveyed her sentiments through an Instagram story, highlighting her disappointment in not being able to partake in a festival that embodies a significant message of joy and community.
The cancellation comes after KATSEYE enjoyed a busy month filled with performances, including spots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the TODAY Show, and Disney’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event. The group was slated to perform on the Dandelion Stage, positioned between sets from renowned artists Santigold and Mitski.
In the wake of this cancellation, Daisy Chain Fields confirmed the news and extended their best wishes for Skiendiel’s recovery. They also announced that Devon Again would be joining the festival’s lineup for 2026, following the unexpected change in schedule.
Originally, KATSEYE had been fast gaining momentum, with their recent accomplishments including an impressive debut performance on The Tonight Show, where they showcased their hit single “Animal.” Just two days later, they captivated fans during the TODAY Show Concert Series in New York City, performing “Hootie Frutti” and “Animal.”
Additionally, the group hosted Spotify’s KLUB KATSEYE promotional event in August, featuring the live debut of their new song “That Way.” They also made a surprise appearance at Disney’s D23 Legends Ceremony, paying tribute to voice actress Susan Egan with a performance of “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)” from Hercules.
KATSEYE is now gearing up for their WILD WORLD Tour, which kicks off on September 1 in Dublin. The tour will see the group performing across the UK and Europe before embarking on an 18-city North American leg that commences on October 13 in Miami. While there is hope for Skiendiel’s swift recovery, it remains uncertain if her injury will impact any forthcoming tour dates.

Manon Bannerman has been on a brief hiatus since February to focus on her health, while Sophia Laforteza announced a temporary break earlier this month for similar reasons related to her mental wellness. Echoing this commitment to mutual support, Lara Raj stated, “I think when we first started, we’d get nervous a lot, like during our first performances. But we’ve learned to help each other. We give each other hugs before we perform.”
Despite the setback, Skiendiel is optimistic and eager to rejoin her bandmates on stage. KATSEYE expressed their admiration for Olivia Rodrigo and all the incredible artists, organisations, and volunteers involved, showcasing their appreciation for the festival’s overarching mission.
The Daisy Chain Fields festival is set to take place on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California, celebrating an all-female music lineup.
