The study, published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ), analysed data from 878 former NFL players who passed away between 2016 and 2021. Of this number, 235 players chose to donate their brains to scientific research, and troublingly, 215 of these were diagnosed with CTE. This statistic indicates a minimum prevalence rate of 24.5% among all players who died in that timeframe, with suggests that the actual figure could be even higher, potentially exceeding 97%.
