Texas EMS Worker’s Wife and 2 Sons Die When Fire Engulfs RV Home While He Is on Duty

A devastating fire in Parker County, Texas, has claimed the lives of a local emergency services worker’s family, including his wife and two young sons. The tragic incident occurred on the night of 17 August around 9:51 PM. Emergency responders were alerted to a structure fire on Lake Country Drive and quickly mobilised to the scene, where they found the family’s mobile home engulfed in flames.

Upon arrival, firefighters faced a daunting task as the blaze had rapidly consumed the camper where the Renfroe family lived. Initial reports indicated that three individuals had not been accounted for in the chaos. As fire crews battled the inferno, they quickly located two victims inside the residence, with the third found shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, all three were pronounced dead at the site of the fire.

The deceased have been identified as Herstle Renfroe, his wife Alexis, and their two children, 10-year-old Cody and 4-year-old Alekzander. At the time of the fire, Herstle was on duty serving his community with Sacred Cross EMS, where he had worked for the past eight years. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Palo Pinto Volunteer Fire Department, illustrating his commitment to public service.

Neighbour Richard Simpson spoke with local news outlet WFAA, expressing his shock at the rapid spread of the fire. “The ashes, the embers were coming over the trees,” he recounted, indicating just how ferocious the blaze had been. Recognising the need for assistance following this catastrophic event, the MWAN Benevolent Fund for First Responders has initiated a campaign to help cover funeral expenses and provide financial help for Herstle, who has lost not only his family but his home and possessions. Fellow first responders and community members have been encouraged to contribute to this effort, underscoring a collective desire to support Herstle through his unimaginable loss.
