**Arizona Woman Arrested After Years of Violent Threats Against Family and Friends**

An Arizona woman has been arrested following a protracted campaign of intimidation that allegedly saw her threaten both family members and acquaintances with severe violence. Shelbey Fernandez, a 30-year-old resident of Peoria, faces more than 30 charges, including sexual exploitation of a minor, stalking, and making threats of violence.

Authorities launched an investigation into Fernandez’s actions after they were alerted to a series of disturbing threats that allegedly began in 2019. This campaign reportedly included menacing communications aimed at her own family and friends. According to law enforcement, the threats escalated to the point where they involved graphic imagery and alarming messages that suggested the intent to cause harm.

One particularly distressing incident involved Fernandez allegedly sending a graphic image of a naked child to her mother and a family friend in Florida. She purportedly claimed that the image was of the daughter of a surgeon who had previously treated her. In another shocking message, Fernandez reportedly warned, “I’ll keep sending child porn of my [child’s name]. Nothing you can do,” as documented in court papers.

Additional threats communicated via text purportedly alluded to graphic violence. Reportedly, Fernandez sent messages indicating her desire to “skin” a relative and included threats to dismember bodies, as well as graphic comments about feeding individuals to alligators. Some of these messages were shockingly explicit, including threats laced with violent imagery directed at her relatives.

In an alarming twist, the investigation revealed that Fernandez may have engaged in “swatting” – a practice where false emergency reports are made to provoke a large police response. The police reported several incidents where her family and associates were wrongfully implicated in various emergency situations, including hostage scenarios and incidents of shootings, prompting multiple police responses.

Part of this convoluted harassment campaign also involved Fernandez allegedly impersonating the husband of a surgeon. This led to confusion and concern within her family, as they believed this man was linked to her threats. Despite the bizarre circumstances, it remains unclear why he was specifically targeted by Fernandez.

A particularly grievous message sent to a family friend in Florida reportedly employed racist language and climaxed with a threat accompanied by an explicit image, claiming, “Then throw you in a pond and watch gators tear you apart.” The severity of Fernandez’s threats led her victim to fear for their safety, forcing the group to cancel in-person gatherings in favour of remote worship services at their local Jehovah’s Witnesses’ congregation after she made threats of a mass shooting at their centre.

In light of the extensive nature of these allegations, police have charged Fernandez with multiple counts, including threats conveyed through electronic communications and making false emergency reports. Following her arrest on August 11, her bond was set at $5,000.

While the investigation is ongoing, it has not been disclosed whether a motive has been established behind Fernandez’s alarming behaviour. Furthermore, as of now, there has been no indication whether she has entered a plea or retained legal counsel to represent her in this matter.
