Ashlyn Barton, who adopted her dog Stone at six weeks old, ultimately found herself in an unexpected situation after taking him in for routine medical procedures.

Earlier this summer, Barton and her husband brought their two-year-old Great Dane to the vet for neutering and gastropexy surgery.
