On 12 August, the couple arrived in Las Vegas with the anticipation of their wedding set for 15 August. However, excitement turned to urgency when Kelsey experienced unexpected contractions during a stroll down Fremont Street. Recounting the moment, Kelsey explained, “I just went to the bathroom and felt cramps. Then all of a sudden, it started trickling.”
Realising the urgency of the situation, Dakota quickly sought help at the entrance of Fremont Street, where an off-duty obstetrician happened to be nearby. This serendipitous encounter provided reassurance as Kelsey awaited the arrival of paramedics. Dakota reflected on the event, stating, “It was like everything was planned, even though it wasn’t planned,” highlighting the unusual yet fortunate circumstances that unfolded.
Kelsey was promptly taken to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, where she delivered a healthy baby girl via Caesarean section at 3:12 a.m. local time. The couple named their daughter Kelbey Willow Sapphire Ross, arriving into the world a staggering 32 days before her due date of 23 September.
Just twelve hours post-delivery, the couple moved forward with their wedding plans, opting for a ceremony at the hospital instead. Both Kelsey and Dakota donned wedding attire, with Kelsey in a white dress and Dakota in a dark suit. The hospital room was transformed into a makeshift wedding venue, featuring decorations, including balloons and flowers, and even a cake to commemorate the occasion.
