At Least 12 Tourists Dead After Bus Crashes and Overturns into a Ditch on Highway Following Pilgrimage

A tragic bus accident in Hungary has left a deep scar on the community as authorities confirmed the fatalities of 12 individuals involved in the crash. Initial reports from Hungary’s National Disaster Management Directorate (NDMD) confirmed that 11 individuals succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while a twelfth person later died in hospital. Furthermore, at least ten others sustained serious injuries, prompting an immediate medical response from local health services.

The situation has prompted condolences from both Hungarian and Polish officials. Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar reached out to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, expressing his sympathies and appreciation for the efforts of rescue teams. “I conveyed my condolences to the Polish people for the terrible night bus accident,” stated Magyar.

In a similar vein, Prime Minister Tusk expressed his sorrow over the loss of life, stating, “I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims. We thank the Hungarian emergency services for their rapid rescue operation.” Both leaders acknowledged the collaborative effort in handling this tragic event.

As authorities continue their investigation into the causes surrounding the crash, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Krosno, Poland, has already begun procedural activities in connection with the incident.
