**Cole Hauser Talks Coffee and Future Adventures in ‘Dutton Ranch’**

Cole Hauser, recognised for his role as Rip Wheeler in the hit series ‘Yellowstone’, recently offered insights into his love for coffee and the future of his character in the drama. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE during the launch of his brand Free Rein Coffee’s new Protein Coffee Collection, Hauser revealed that coffee is an essential part of his daily routine, both at work and at home.
The actor disclosed that he consumes around four cups of coffee a day, a habit he maintains until early afternoon. “I drink it until about one o’clock. I could drink it all day long. It’s my favourite,” he said, confidently asserting that he drinks more coffee than his fellow cast members. His passion for coffee is evident in his choice of blends for his characters, too.
Hauser noted that if Rip Wheeler and Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, were to pick up coffee, their choices would reflect their personalities. For Beth, he suggested the Branded and Choconela varieties from his brand’s offerings, stating, “She’s got a little bit of spice to her.” On the other hand, Rip would opt for something more rugged, with Hauser recommending the American Dirt blend, which aligns with Rip’s cowboy persona.
When it comes to his own coffee preferences, Hauser admits to an old-school inclination towards black coffee. However, he expressed excitement about the new protein-infused coffee launched through Free Rein, which he described as a significant step for the brand. The Protein Coffee Collection, which includes K-Cup-compatible pods and ready-to-drink options, is now available in Walmart stores and represents Hauser’s commitment to expanding his coffee business.
The new product comes at a time when he has been focusing on personal fitness. Although he mentioned taking a rest after a busy filming schedule, he plans to incorporate his protein coffee into his routine when he returns to the gym. “When I get my next shipment of Free Rein protein coffee, I’m going to start hitting the gym with it,” he noted.
Outside of his professional commitments, Hauser enjoys a quieter lifestyle, particularly after the challenges he faced during the grueling first season of ‘Dutton Ranch’. Reflecting on the production, he described how cast and crew endured difficult weather conditions, ranging from intense heat to frigid temperatures and ice storms. “It was just nuts,” he remarked, acknowledging that they were all ready for a break by the end of filming.
During his downtime, Hauser cherishes moments at home, particularly mornings spent overlooking the ocean. “Waking up, zoning out, staring at the water, watching the birds wake up — it’s all about taking it slow with my family and five dogs,” he shared.
As the series gears up for its second season, Hauser confirmed that Paramount+ has renewed ‘Dutton Ranch’, with production expected to kick off in early 2027. Although details about Rip Wheeler’s next developments remain under wraps, he expressed excitement about the new direction the show is heading under incoming showrunner Ben Cavell. Hauser praised Cavell’s vision and expressed optimism about the journey ahead for Rip, Beth, and their young companion Carter, played by Finn Little.
“Now that we have a wonderful new showrunner, I think the future is bright — not only for myself, but for Beth and Carter and the show in general,” Hauser said, hinting at promising new storylines to come.
