Domino’s is set to introduce a new addition to its menu with the launch of ‘The Domino,’ a personal-sized pizza distinguished by its Detroit-style crust. This new offering will be available from 31st August 2026, as announced in a press release issued on 11th August.

‘The Domino’ is designed to cater to individual preferences, allowing customers the freedom to choose up to three toppings, as well as their preferred sauce. The pizza is shaped to resemble the brand’s iconic logo, boasting a rectangular form that is characteristic of Detroit-style pizza. Constructed with a buttery-flavoured dough, the pizza base is supplemented with Parmesan cheese, followed by two layers of cheese and a drizzle of the chain’s well-known garlic seasoning.

The introduction of a personal pizza reflects the growing demand for customisation within the fast-food sector, especially in scenarios where people are sharing meals. Domino’s asserts that this personal pizza enables diners to enjoy their exact preferences without the need to share components of a larger pizza. A company spokesperson explained that while traditional pizza can often lead to compromises in taste and choice, ‘The Domino’ eliminates that issue.

According to Domino’s, the individual pizza allows diners to build a meal that suits their unique tastes, thus filling a niche in their existing product range. The spokesperson elaborated that the demand for diverse flavour profiles within a social dining context has been rising, and this new offering caters specifically to that need.
The popularity of ‘The Domino’ is anticipated to bolster sales, particularly as it is incorporated into the chain’s Mix and Match Deal, which allows customers to choose two or more items from the menu for just £6.99 each. This strategic pricing is likely to appeal to a broad audience and enhance accessibility.
In the announcement, it was also noted that initial customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Independent testing has indicated that consumers rated ‘The Domino’ as one of the most delicious items ever introduced by the pizza chain. This endorsement suggests that the launch could be a significant success, tapping into consumer desire for personalised dining experiences.
This latest innovation marks the first time in over 65 years that a pizza has been named after the company itself, an interesting milestone for a brand that has become synonymous with pizza across the globe. Since its inception in 1960, Domino’s has expanded to boast more than 22,500 locations in over 90 markets, making it a major player in the fast-food industry.
The forthcoming launch of ‘The Domino’ follows a period of considerable rebranding for Domino’s, which included the unveiling of a new logo and jingle created by country star Shaboozey in October 2025. As part of its first brand refresh since 2012, the company enhanced its iconic colours, opting for more vibrant shades of red and blue and introducing a new typeface, named Domino’s Sans.
Domino’s representatives emphasised the importance of maintaining relevance in a competitive market, stating that genuine engagement with customers and franchisees helped shape the recent changes. This thoughtful approach to branding reflects the chain’s commitment to evolving in line with consumer preferences and trends, ensuring a fresh experience for both new and loyal customers alike.
As the launch date approaches, it will be interesting to observe how ‘The Domino’ resonates with the public and whether it will indeed redefine how customers engage with pizza, focusing on individual preference while still accommodating the social aspects of dining.
