Preschool Worker Accused of Dropping Crying 2-Year-Old Face-Down on Mat, Pushing His Head into Pillow

A former preschool worker faces serious allegations of child mistreatment after an incident involving a two-year-old boy in her care. Erin Burke, 27, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and simple assault following an event reported to have occurred in July at Newtown Discovery Preschool, located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

The situation came to light after preschool administrators filed a report with ChildLine, which is the state’s child abuse reporting hotline. This report was initiated after reviewing surveillance footage that purportedly showed Burke engaging in distressing behaviour towards the toddler, who was reportedly crying.
