In an exclusive interview, Hemmens expressed her desire for a wedding that encapsulated an ocean-view atmosphere, culinary delights, and an enchanting evening of dancing under the stars. She described the celebration as “the beginning of our dream come true” and emphasised the advantages of hosting the ceremony in the comfort of their own home.

“We wanted an intimately detailed celebration, but with no travel stress,” the actress shared, highlighting how choosing their residence made planning much simpler. “Deciding to get married in our home was the best decision!” remarked Wajda, who is also the founder and CEO of Galifornia Undies.
Walking down the aisle to “When I Get My Hands on You” by The New Basement Tapes, Hemmens looked stunning in an elegantly designed gown featuring intricate floral lace appliqués and a dramatic tulle overskirt. Wajda complemented her with a navy blue suit. Reflecting on her bridal attire, Hemmens admitted that while she initially sought something understated, trying on the dress changed her perspective entirely.
The couple exchanged heartfelt handwritten vows beneath a beautifully adorned floral arch, a moment both described as the highlight of their ceremony. The officiant for the day was Hemmens’ uncle, Winston, who added a personal touch to the proceedings.
Following the nuptials, the couple treated their guests to an array of Italian delicacies and wines, a nod to their upcoming honeymoon in Italy. Guests appreciated the wine tasting station, which featured a curated selection of the bride’s favourite Italian wines, sourced from Dry Farm Wines.
Dessert took an unexpected turn when a heart-shaped strawberry and rhubarb pie, initially planned as the wedding dessert, was ruined during delivery. Settling for some cakes via Postmates, the couple maintained a light-hearted approach to the day’s events.
Reflecting on their relationship, Hemmens noted that their marriage simply formalised what they had known about their bond since the early days of their dating. “We want us, forever,” she declared. The couple became engaged on April 14 during a romantic getaway to Isla Mujeres, a stunning island in the Caribbean Sea. Hemmens shared the engagement news on social media the following month, capturing the public’s attention with her heartfelt post.
In their comments about each other, it is evident that Hemmens and Wajda cherish the deep connection they’ve built. Hemmens highlighted Wajda’s ability to make every moment enriched with fun, intention, and love, expressing her gratitude for having such an extraordinary partner. Similarly, Wajda praised Hemmens for her resilience, morning melodies, and her vibrant personality, stating he feels fortunate to love every facet of her.
As the couple embarks on this next chapter of their lives, they are filled with excitement. With enthusiasm for their future, they optimistically concluded that this would indeed be their best journey yet.
