A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to two life terms for the aggravated sexual assault and kidnapping of a pregnant convenience store clerk, following a jury verdict in Montgomery County, Texas. Logan Michael Parker will serve his sentence concurrently, meaning he will be ineligible for parole for at least 30 years.

The harrowing incident occurred in the early hours of April 10, 2025, when Parker entered a Circle K gas station in Texas to purchase a drink. Prosecutors stated that after his card was declined, the clerk, exhibiting kindness, voided the transaction and used her employee discount to allow Parker to leave with the drink, without any charge.
However, just minutes later, Parker returned to the store in a predatory manner. He drove behind the establishment, switched off his headlights, and forcibly entered the store, where he allegedly threatened the life of the pregnant clerk. Prosecutors have indicated that Parker then compelled her into a restroom, where he assaulted her before stealing her mobile phone and fleeing the scene.
After the assault, the victim remained hidden in the store until she felt it was safe to contact customers for help. One of the customers who arrived shortly thereafter called emergency services, prompting a swift response from local authorities. Police were dispatched to the gas station at approximately 1:30 a.m., discovering the distressed clerk inside the building, visibly shaken and in need of medical attention.
The investigation that followed was thorough, involving crime scene examination, evidence collection, and a review of security camera footage. Officers were able to identify Parker as the suspect and located his vehicle within hours, leading to his detention shortly after the incident.
District Attorney Mike Holley reflected on the case, remarking on the profound betrayal the victim faced. He stated, “A woman showed this defendant compassion. He repaid that kindness by returning to the store and committing an unspeakable act of violence against the very person who helped him.”
More than a year after the assault, Parker’s case made its way to trial. On August 5, 2026, following a multi-day trial, the jury found him guilty on both counts. The prosecution highlighted the vital role played by the victim’s bravery in coming forward, alongside the determined work of police investigators.
