**Therabody Issues Major Recall of Theragun Pro Chargers Due to Fire Risks**

A significant safety recall affecting over 500,000 Theragun Pro chargers has been announced by Therabody following alarming reports of overheating and fire hazards. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed the recall on 31 July after multiple incidents were reported involving chargers that emitted smoke, burned, or even caught fire while in use.
The FDA disclosed that a total of 584,224 chargers linked with certain fourth-generation Theragun Pro devices are being recalled. The agency’s findings indicate that the charging cradle might overheat when charging the device’s detachable battery pack, leading to a potential fire risk.
Consumers have reported various concerning issues, including visible smoke, melting components, and a burning smell emanating from the chargers. These incidents highlight a serious safety risk that prompted the Class II recall categorisation by the FDA. This designation indicates that while exposure to the faulty product may result in temporary or reversible health effects, the chances of serious long-term consequences are low.
The faulty products were manufactured prior to 2022 and have specific SKU numbers: G4-PRO-PKG-NA, G4 PRO US, and PRO-CHARGER-SINGLE. Additionally, affected chargers are identifiable by the unique codes UDI-DI 00810036050135 and GTIN 810036051378.
In light of these safety concerns, all distributors, retailers, and resellers of the affected Theragun G4 Pro chargers across the United States and Canada have been instructed to cease sales immediately. Retailers have also been advised to refrain from returning the products to consumers or discarding their inventory.
Therabody has yet to respond to requests for comment regarding the recall. However, its official website markets the Theragun devices as providing “quiet, deep muscle therapy” designed to alleviate soreness and stress while promoting rapid recovery. These devices feature four adjustable settings to offer what is touted as professional-grade relief.
The brand has gained significant popularity among both celebrities and athletes, who often use Therabody’s massagers in their muscle recovery routines.
