John Ross Bowie, an established actor best known for his portrayal of Barry Kripke on *The Big Bang Theory*, has opened up about his return to the character in the new spin-off series, *Stuart Fails to Save the Universe*. The show not only brings back Kripke’s distinctive voice but also allows for substantial character development across its ten episodes.
Bowie, who attended the Los Angeles premiere of the series on July 21, 2026, explained that reigniting Kripke’s notable speech pattern proved to be a manageable task. However, he found that transitioning away from it was more challenging than he anticipated. “I’ve stayed in practice, so it snapped back pretty quickly,” the 55-year-old actor shared. “The challenge this time was getting rid of it… being there every day for whatever it was, 13, 14 weeks, made it harder to let go of the speech impediment.”
